Van Gogh Sunset - Actifit: May 6 2022

Sometimes haze is beautiful. At the lake, I found that in most directions I looked the sky was fairly clear. But in the direction of the setting sun it was quite hazy. But I decided it turned the sun into a lovely impressionist painting.

As you can see, there is a buoy out in the water in the second one. Those have just appeared in the water, now that the ice is finally fully melted and people are getting ready to put their boats in the water. They are actually markers, as there aren’t enough boat slips for everyone who wants to keep their boat there, so the allow quite a few to “dock” out in the water.

Now I know what you’re thinking: “Van Gogh wasn’t technically an impressionist. He was a post-impressionist. And yes, you are absolutely right. How silly of me!

Good morning! Happy Saturday, my friend! I am always so busy (I am sure you know all about that!) so I am usually not able to stop in and chat. My standard protocol is to interact via my curation account, and add my "Thank You!" graphic. But I do try to actually reply sometimes 😊. What beautiful photographs you have shared with us! While I certainly do appreciate art, I will be the first to admit that I don't remember all the "technical" wording; impressionistic, post-impressionistic... words are hard!. But I do appreciate it when others can see "beyond" the simple things in life, and share what really matters to them.

This is exactly what I mean! To some, a blurry photograph might just end up in the deleted folder. But it's these photos, to me, that bring out the true nature of art... the haze gives your photograph that "dreamy" or even "surreal" effect. So much so, that I respectfully dripped some love on one of your photographs, with the LunaPic Editor... I added the "Surreal Painting" from the "Effects" options... let me just show you:

Of course... any editing of original work sometimes tends to "take away" from the original grandeur and awesomesauce... while giving a "surreal" effect...yes, the filter seems to lessen the warm glow that your original had. Regardless... I loved your post, as well as photographs enough, that I just wanted to try and show my thanks.
