Sunday Bike Ride - Actifit: August 14 2022

I went back out to the trail I walked yesterday, but this time I rode to the trail on my bike. It was a perfect day for cycling.

I don’t have quite as many pictures as usual because it’s quite hard to ride and take photos! So it means stopping. But I did get several of my bike, which makes a good subject, for lack of a person to pose.

The interesting thing that happened from a wildlife perspective was that a wild turkey flew right in front of my bike. Also I saw this little frog and shooed him off the path so he wouldn’t get crushed by a bike.

The other interesting thing that happened was that I started along the path that I had walked yesterday and realized something I didn’t notice as I was walking. It’s an uphill grade! This became apparent when I was pedaling.

I love how far and fast I can go on a bike, vs. walking. I mean I really love both, but it’s just incredible traversing the same same trail but being able to cover so much if it. We are blessed with many trails here in Minnesota. But it’s always a challenge to navigate them using Google!

Anyway, here’s a map showing where I was at my farthest point out, about 11 miles from home.

There’s a beautiful lake there, very active with boats on this beautiful summer day.

And some very cute thistle flowers…

And one more lovely look at the trail, stretching onward, beckoning me forward to unknown but exciting destinations. (In this case it was an Indian restaurant; my husband picked me up about five miles from home so we could get a bite to eat.)
