Wednesday Walk - Flowers, gazebos and boats —Actifit: September 14 2022

My Wednesday Walk this week was through a tiny town on a lake. It’s a lovely area and I would love to live there if it wasn’t so affluent!

Before I charge in, I just wanted to give a shout-out to @tattoodjay, host of #wednesdaywalk, and @elizacheng, host of #makemesmile — and their weekly collaboration. Check it out. It’s very fun to participate, share some images and a write-up of a walk you enjoyed, and read the posts by others in the community.

For my first picture I will share what I consider to be the best photo of the evening, as it will be the featured photo. I walked down a favorite path to the lake.

It’s actually a small dead-end, and is the only public access to the water within the town itself, which sits on a small point that supports perhaps 30 houses. In the many times I have walked down that little road, I have never seen another soul.

But just as I got past some trees to the top of a little hill above the dock, I realized there were two people sitting on the bench. And the very next moment, a boat came by pulling a water skier and I snapped the picture.

Then I turned and walked away, because it is uncanny how often I take pictures of the back of people and suddenly they turn and look at me. It’s like they sense me looking at them!

Here’s a picture I took moments before, as I was heading down the little road. As you can see, I had no indication that anyone was there.

Okay, let’s see those gazebos and flowers I promised in the subject line.

As I said, it’s a tiny town. But would you believe it has not one but two gazebos? The first one is in a park near the little city hall and the next one is in a children’s park.

The park also has a charming sculpture of children gazing in a pond.

There are some amazing flowers near city hall.

And there are some huge bush hydrangeas near the cute general store.

I also captured some window boxes in the upper windows of one house.

Well my friends, that is it for this week’s Wednesday Walk. I hope the rest of your week goes well!

Charming is such an apt description for this lovely park

I love that first photo great timing to catch both the people sitting and the skier going by :)

I know what you meant about people turning as if they know you took a photo it has happened to me many a time.

Both taking the photo and also sensing someone is watching me and turning ;)

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

So that happens to you too, @tattoodjay? I do think most people have a bit of a 6th sense. I can be utterly soundless, or standing up on a concrete bridge overlooking a couple of teenagers on a boat, completely involved in fishing. And as soon as I raise the camera, they turn and look. It's really quite uncanny. Thank you for stopping by!

Ohh yes in both cases, but I am very attuned to if someone is watching me, I always know, and its impossible to sneak up behind me, in some of the countries I have been and in some situations it has literally been life saving

So you have a "spidey sense," @tattoodjay! That's very good. And I'm glad it has served you well!

Yes, it's a teensy weensy little town. And everyone there drives Porsches, Corvettes, and Teslas, if that tells you anything!
