Boats and the beauty of a summer evening: July 24 2025
Hubby and I took a walk to the lake, via our favorite path.
I envy boat owners, yet I do like the simplicity of our lives. To enjoy the water, all we need is our walking shoes. And if I want to be on the water, I just heave my kayak into the back of my van and in about 10-15 minutes I’m paddling on the lake.
I find serenity at the lake. Each time we take this walk, the views are a little different, depending on the time of day and the patterns of the clouds in the sky.

Ha ha. Yes we are in the middle of mosquito season at this moment. I find they aren’t bad unless I’m out on a humid evening with no breeze between 9 and 11 pm!
Mosquitoes seem to like two different times a day in the north northwest……
Early morning when I’m in a T-shirt, stacking firewood!😳
Then, just before dusk, they must be extra thirsty for blood!🙄
The classic conundrum — dress for comfort or to protect oneself from the biting vermin!
lol…. So very true.!😇😬
In Gunnison Colorado, they would attack in the evening, everyone called it “the Gunnison flap” waving your arms to escape being bitten!😳
Even if it was warm out, you had to put on long sleeve shirts, they were vicious!🙄
