The Minnesota State Fair: August 24 2025
I’ve tried for two days in a row to write an Actifit right after climbing into bed, and have fallen asleep instead! The third time is the charm.
My husband and I went to the Minnesota State Fair this evening. We met some relatives (including @preparedwombat), and it was such fun. We all really enjoy trying different foods, and seeing different sights around the grounds.
The options for food are quite daunting! And yes, you can even get fried gator! Not to mention fried Twinkies, fried cheese (cheese curds), fried pickles and even fried spaghetti and meatballs!
My husband’s favorite thing to do is to go to the Midway to see the rides all lit up after dark. So that was our last stop of the day, after enjoying some food, visiting the crafts area, and stopping by the baby animal barn.
There was a beautiful sunset when we arrived!
And then it was dark! But the lights made it fun to stroll around, looking at all the rides and the various games with ping pong balls, water guns, etc. We were not interested in any of the silly prizes, but we did go on a roller coaster ride.

Hi @ddrfr33k! Somehow I got way behind on Hi e stuff. Thanks very much for visiting my state fair post. That's cool that you are from Minnesota. Are there Hive meetups that you know of in MN? I went to a few years ago, but now I can't even remember who organized them.
@timcliff and I organized the last Minnesota meetup back when we were still the Steem blockchain. That's how long ago it was...
We should organize another meetup some time. I bet we could get @fedoraonmyhead, @raizel, and @timcliff to show up! Drag along anyone else we can find...that sounds like fun!
