Naomi Osaka Chooses Japan Over USA To Participate At 2020 Olympics

World no 3 female tennis player Naomi Osaka has decided to represent Japan instead of USA in next year Summer Olympics taking place in Tokyo.

Osaka had the option to choose USA been that she is an America citizen. She hold dual citizenshp(Japan and US)

Osaka, born to a Japanese mother and a Haitian father grew up in the US, where she basically spent most of her life.

According to Japanese law she was required to make a decision on what country to represent before her 22nd birthday on the 16th of October. She however made the decision before that day.

In her discussion with NHK- a Japanese broadcasting channel, she revealed that choosing Japan gives her a special feeling and it is a pride to be representing Japan.

It's still unclear where she will be holding her training based on this recent decision as she resides in the US.
