Novak Djokovic: Defending champion to miss Madrid Open

World No 1 Novak Djokovic will be missing the opportunity to defend his Madrid Open title after the Serbian pulled out of the forthcoming event.

The 33 year old made the announcement and apologized has he won't be travelling due to the French Open coming up in 4weeks.

After been unable to feature in previous Madrid Open in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Serb will be out for this year event yet again.

The 18th Grand Slam title winner is expected to make his next appearance in next month at Rome Masters or Belgrade for preparations before French Open on May 30
