Roger Federer beaten in Qatar Open quarter-finals by Nikoloz Basilashvili

Roger Federer has just crashed out of the Qatar open after been knocked out by Nikoloz Basilashvili.The Swiss who just returned from a 14 month injury was overcomed by Georgia's Basilashvili 3-6 6-1 7-5 in the Qatar final at Doha.

Federer who returned to court earlier on Wednesday with a win against Britain's Dan Evans missed his chances to go through in the deciding sets.

Basilashvili capitalised on the 39 year old errors and lack of fitness to advanced into the semis of the tournament after just one hour and 50 minutes of play.

The 20-time Grand Slam winner Federer said after the match that even though he was not 100% fit yet, he was excited to have played back to back three sets games with two top players under three days.

He also said the tournament was a great one for him and will be needing about 5-6 weeks to return to full fitness. With Wimbledon in about 4months, the Swiss says he's looking towards it and will be well prepared for it.
