Super Eagles march into last 16 as perfect AFCON record continues

Super eagles of Nigeria have advanced into the last 16 of the African nations cup after defeating Guinea-Bissau 0-2 in their last group game.

Going into the match, their qualification was never in doubt has they already made six points after two wins, one against Egypt and Sudan.

It was a stale first half at Garoua has nothing was able to separate both team. But shortly after the break, Umar Sadiq broke the deadlock after converting from Kelechi Iheanacho cross.

Captain William Troost-Ekong put the game to bed in the 75th minutes after tapping into an empty net following a superb display from Moses Simon.

The win on the night at Garoua made them the only team in the competition to win all three group games after amassing a total of six goals.

The super eagles will have to wait till end of today's game to know who they face in the next phase of the competition. Been group winner, they're likely to face one of best third place winner of Group B, E or F.
