It starts out in the most normal way: Komura, a high school student, is in love with Mie, his classmate, but he doesn't dare to talk to her... it all starts when Mie forgets her glasses one day, it may sound like nothing, right? But just that little detail of everyday life is what starts to move everything and makes these two get closer without expecting it...

I couldn't stop smiling seeing how a simple forgetfulness could become something so important, it made me remember those rare and cute moments in school, when even the smallest thing seemed very important. Komura is a very sweet character, he's genuine, cool and he goes around in circles in his head, he gets stressed and worries too much haha, that's why you identify a lot with him. Watching him struggle with his feelings as he tries to understand why he likes Mie so much was both funny and heart-wrenching. His internal struggle between being shy and wanting to say what he feels is so real. Every time he offers to help Mie, you feel his nervousness and how much he weighs on those words he can't bring himself to say. It's that vulnerable vibe that makes you want to encourage him, with all your might!, even though taking that first step into the unknown is very scary.

Hola a todos, amigos fanáticos del anime, espero que estén hoy súper bien, en esta ocasión les quiero hablar de un anime muy entretenido, es una serie que puede cautivarte de muchas maneras, les daré mis opiniones personales de “The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses” y déjenme decirles, este anime me atrapó totalmente, de principio a fin, agarran una idea súper sencilla y la convierten en un viaje super lindo sobre el primer amor, con un toque especial y momentos de esos que te hacen pensar, como a mí siempre me han encantado las historias honestas y de esas que te dejan algo, este anime me llegó al corazón. La cosa empieza de lo más normal: Komura, un estudiante de prepa, está enamorado de Mie, su compañera de clase, pero no sé atreve a hablarle.. todo arranca cuando a Mie se le olvidan las gafas un día, puede sonar como nada, ¿no?, pero justo ese detallito del día a día es lo que empieza a mover todo y hace que estos dos se acerquen sin que se lo esperen..

Yo no podía parar de sonreír viendo cómo un simple olvido podía convertirse en algo tan importante, me hizo acordarme de esos momentos raros y lindos del colegio, cuando hasta la cosa más chiquita parecía importantísima. Komura es un personaje muy tierno, es genuino, buena onda y le da mil vueltas a todo en su cabeza, se estresa y preocupa demasiado jaja, por eso te identificas un montón con él. Verlo batallar con sus sentimientos mientras trata de entender por qué le gusta tanto Mie fue, a la vez, chistoso y te toca el corazón.. es que es tan real su debate interno entre ser tímido y querer decir lo que siente.. cada vez que se ofrece a ayudar a Mie, sientes su nerviosismo y lo mucho que le pesan esas palabras que no se anima a decir. Es esa onda vulnerable la que te hace querer darle ánimos, ¡con todas tus fuerzas!, aunque dar ese primer paso a lo desconocido dé mucho miedo.

And we also have to talk about Mie! She's a character who is pure energy, forgetting her glasses isn't just because she's absent-minded, no, no, no! It's like a masterstroke, but sometimes it's just clumsiness... you wonder if she really forgets them or if it's a secret tactic, a way of seeing how far Komura is willing to help her... that strange energy she has, mixed with an air of mystery, gives her a depth that goes beyond the typical absent-minded girl. She made me smile with every thing she came up with, and at the same time, I admired how she tried hard to be independent, even if she was always forgetting something... what makes this anime different from those romance stories that take forever to move forward is that here everything goes really fast! None of those series where every little thing is drawn out to infinity, things flow, and Mie is the one who takes the initiative to make the relationship move forward, both begin to notice their feelings, Mie's audacity puts a spark that keeps the story fresh, and more than once I had to hold back my laughter.

Who would have thought that a simple pair of forgotten glasses could light a flame so intense? But the story doesn't just stop with them two... the secondary characters give the anime incredible life, we have Asuma, the popular guy in the classroom who, to everyone's surprise!, asks Komura for love advice, something that makes you laugh and feel tender at the same time... I can't forget Narumi, who is there watching every move between Mie and Komura, giving a super real and fun touch to the school atmosphere... these characters, with their own quirks and unfiltered comments, create such a fun atmosphere that every scene in the classroom or in the hallways feels like it's real, totally believable!

Y también hay que hablar de Mie! es un personaje que es pura energía, lo de olvidarse las gafas no es solo que sea despistada, ¡no, no, no! es como si fuera una jugada maestra, pero a veces si es solo torpeza.. te quedas pensando si en verdad se le olvidan o si es una táctica secreta, una forma de ver hasta dónde Komura está dispuesto a ayudarla.. esa energía rara que tiene, mezclada con un aire de misterio, le da una profundidad que va más allá de la típica chica distraída. A mí me sacaba una sonrisa con cada cosa que se le ocurría, y a la vez, admiraba cómo se esforzaba por ser independiente, aunque siempre anduviera olvidando algo.. lo que hace que este anime sea diferente a esas historias de romance que se tardan una eternidad en avanzar es que aquí ¡todo va rapidísimo! Nada de esas series donde cada cosita la alargan hasta el infinito, la cosa fluye, y Mie es la que toma la iniciativa para que la relación avance, ambos empiezan a notar sus sentimientos, esa audacia de Mie le pone una chispa que mantiene la historia fresca, y más de una vez me tuve que aguantar la risa.

¿Quién iba a pensar que un simple par de gafas olvidadas podía prender una llama así de intensa? Pero la historia no se queda solo en ellos dos.. los personajes secundarios le dan una vida increíble al anime, tenemos a Asuma, el popular del salón que, ¡para sorpresa de todos!, le pide consejos de amor a Komura, una cosa que te da risa y ternura al mismo tiempo.. no me puedo olvidar de Narumi, que está ahí pendiente de cada movimiento entre Mie y Komura, dándole un toque súper real y divertido al ambiente del colegio.. estos personajes, con sus propias manías y comentarios sin filtro, crean un ambiente tan divertido que cada escena en el salón o en los pasillos se siente como si fuera de verdad, ¡totalmente creíble!

Mie’s design is adorable, you can tell they put a lot of love into the way she did her hair and those big eyes she has… each scene is captured perfectly, which makes it stand out a lot… the animation has a style that is like… unique, you know? Sometimes it’s wonderful, and other times it’s a bit down… on one hand, the creative way they use the cameras, filters and effects gives it an artistic touch that makes the emotional moments even more intense. But, on the other hand, sometimes they go overboard with so many effects and it kind of distracts you a bit, it takes you away from the important thing, which is the story itself. Personally, I was kind of divided: I liked that they dared to try new things with the effects, but sometimes I thought it would be better if it were simpler so that the characters could shine without so much visual stuff on top of it.

As for the themes, the anime is a gem, it explores in a way that touches your soul the innocence of first love, the anxiety that comes from not feeling confident in yourself and that bittersweet path of stopping being shy... the very real way in which they show how difficult it is to confess what you feel and that internal mess you have when you want to be brave, even if you're scared to death, made me think of my own loves from when I was a kid and those moments where a simple glance seemed like it was everything, there is a deep message about accepting yourself as you are, with your good and bad things, and daring to go for what makes your heart race, no matter if the path is weird or different. To be honest, not everything in the series is perfect. The fact that Mie forgets her glasses all the time can get a bit tiring. I also thought that after a while, it seemed like a joke that was stretched too far... although I guess it's like a reminder that the simplest, everyday things can lead you to incredible things... seeing it that way, repeating it isn't such a bad thing, but rather a decision to tell the story in a very mundane way, adding the plus of the mystery of whether they really forget or not.

El diseño de Mie es adorable, se nota que le pusieron un montón de cariño a cómo le hicieron el pelo y esos ojazos que tiene.. cada escena la capta perfecta, lo que hace que resalte un montón.. la animación tiene un estilo que es como... único, ¿sabes? A veces es una maravilla, y otras veces baja un poquito.. por un lado, la forma creativa en que usan las cámaras, los filtros y los efectos le da un toque artístico que hace que los momentos emotivos sean aún más intensos. Pero, por otro lado, a veces se les va la mano con tanto efecto y como que te distrae un poco, te saca de lo importante que es la historia en sí, a mí, personalmente, me pasó que estaba como dividido: me gustaba que se animaran a probar cosas nuevas con los efectos, pero a ratos pensaba que sería mejor que fuera más simple para que los personajes brillaran sin tanta cosa visual encima.

En cuanto a los temas, el anime es una joyita, explora de una manera que te llega al alma la inocencia del primer amor, la ansiedad que te da no sentirte seguro de ti mismo y ese camino agridulce de dejar de ser tímido.. la forma tan real en que muestran lo difícil que es confesar lo que sientes y ese lío interno que tienes cuando quieres ser valiente, aunque te mueras de miedo, me hizo pensar en mis propios amores de cuando era chico y en esos momentos donde una simple miradita parecía que lo era todo, hay un mensaje profundo sobre aceptarte como eres, con tus cosas buenas y malas, y atreverte a ir por lo que te acelera el corazón, no importa si el camino es raro o diferente. Siendo honesto: no todo en la serie es perfecto, el hecho de que Mie se olvide de las gafas a cada rato puede cansar un poco, yo también lo pensé, después de un rato, como que ya parece un chiste que se estira demasiado.. aunque supongo que es como un recordatorio de que las cosas más simples y de todos los días pueden llevarte a cosas increíbles.. viéndolo así, que se repita no es algo tan malo, sino una decisión para contar la historia de manera muy mundana, añadiéndole el plus sobre el misterio si de verdad se les olvida o no.

If I had to give it a grade, I'd give it an 8/10, the best thing about this anime is that it shows young love in a super real way, the cute vibe between the characters and how they take a really simple idea and it touches your heart, sometimes the animation becomes too experimental, or the glasses thing is repeated a lot, but those little details are low, next to how tender and authentic the story is. It's a series that doesn't believe itself to be a big thing, but it leaves you with moments that make you feel good and think a little, thinking about this anime, I realize how much it captures that unexpected magic of when you're young...

How brave you are to show yourself as you are even if you don't know what's going to happen... seeing Komura and Mie on their way, all clumsy and beautiful, was like going back to my teenage years, full of confessions that embarrass you, knowing smiles and that quiet emotion of knowing that any little mistake could be the beginning of something incredible. I really recommend this anime to all of you who think that even the smallest thing can connect you with the love of your life. Si tuviera que ponerle nota, le doy un 8/10, lo mejor de este anime es que muestra el amor de jóvenes de una forma súper real, la onda tan linda que hay entre los personajes y cómo agarran una idea re sencilla y te llega al corazón, a veces la animación se vuelve demasiado experimental, o lo de las gafas se repite un montón, pero esos detallitos, son bajos, al lado de lo tierna y auténtica que es la historia. Es una serie que no se cree la gran cosa, pero te deja momentos que te hacen sentir bien y pensar un poquito, pensando en este anime, me doy cuenta de lo mucho que atrapa esa magia inesperada de cuando eres joven..

Lo valiente que eres al mostrarte como eres aunque no sepas qué va a pasar.. ver a Komura y Mie en su camino, todo torpe y hermoso, fue como volver a mis años de adolescente, llenos de confesiones que te dan vergüenza, sonrisitas cómplices y esa emoción callada de saber que cualquier errorcito podía ser el comienzo de algo increíble. De verdad, les recomiendo este anime a todos los que piensen que hasta la cosa más pequeña los puede conectar con el amor de su vida, se van a encontrar con un viaje que les va a llenar el alma de calorcito.. y bueno, esto es todo por hoy, espero que les haya gustado esta reseña, cuídense mucho!
