I remember Patrick talking about a different issue that may of lead to this on one of his streams. Apparently when SPORTS first started, you could upvote and get sports from comments past their deadline date (7 days). The person who did the late voting would get all the generated sports and some changes were made to the inflation rate. I wonder if this is a side-effect of this fix.

This change was implemented a week or so later after creating SportsTalkSocial tribe. The upvoting window is 4 days and after 7 days you will get the SPORTS tokens in your wallet.
Thank you for the clarification as I didn't know whether or not it was intentional.
