OTF Nona North Run Club: Meetup and Run #2 - My Actifit Report Card: February 20 2022

(Edited)

Tiffany and I had a five day streak of Orangetheory Fitness sessions, which is a normal routine, but today was the second meet up a run of the newly formed OTF Nona North Run Club:

The Ginger Ninja Coach Christen is managing the Run Club and this morning was a bit off, because Coach had two have two run waves.

The first wave ran at 6:30am, because Christen and a few others wanted to workout in the 90 minute Orangetheory session, because it was an American Heart Association pledged session.

Honestly, Tiffa and I didn’t have enough gas in our collective tanks to do a workout and run a 5K too. Perhaps, pre-COVID.

The weather was beautiful for a run and we completed the 5K with a smaller crew, which was Coach Christen, the badass Jessica Han, Tiffa and me. The crazy part was, that Christen and Jessica ran with us after running the 6:30am 5K, the 90 minute Orangetheory session 😮

Tomorrow is rest day, since the month of February became Monday’s off. I hate not working out on Mondays. I usually take Never Miss a Monday very seriously when it comes to my workout sessions. It’s a tone setter for the week, I like to feed off of; but in March we go back to Wednesday rest days instead of Mondays.

I found you through list nerds. I think I ran the very first Nona 5k. It was a straight road down and back lol. It was before I moved to los angeles. Unfortunately I stopped running in 2013 or I would love to meet up with you. Actifit is pretty awesome. I earned a lot of hive that way.

Yeah, its great. I haven't too much about actifit lately and I haven't been doing my steps but really need to get back to it. Its really a great incentive to get fit.

It's been a long time since I did any running. In a way, I tend to just prefer to just walk for my Actifit. I am probably out of shape to do any type of marathon or race.

One of my favorite things to do is run, but I know many who are not fans of it 🤪 Regardless, walking is still activity @jfang003; just have to make a routine of it and be consistent- of course, managing how and what one eats is the harder hill to climb.

You guys are awesome. I never took to running. I had to do it when I was in Navy Bootcamp ages ago. And then on Active duty they had fitness tests once in awhile. I don't mind walking but to run someone has to be chasing me. LOL Something about Mondays though. I think you're right about Monday setting the tone for the week.

😀 @lisamgentile1961 - it helps that I love running, but walking is just as effective. There are other things like eating healthier, etc. but walking is an activity that helps more than helps the ticker’s health.

I feel like there is no in between with running. People either love it or they don't. I do feel like I am in a better mood when I get up from my desk and even just go up and down the steps. Or in my case down and up because our office and bedroom are on the top floor of Dad's house just like Mike and Gloria. Have a great day! 😀

Looks like a great group. Many years ago, I belonged to a Fox & Hounds group that was so much fun. One person was the fox. They would get a head start and would mark a trail for the hounds to follow. As the British gent who started the group proclaimed, "The purpose of the run was to work up a thirst." This meant that the ending point of the run was a bar with a good cold beer. Keep it up.
