RE: Returning my new phone. My Actifit Report Card: April 3 2024

Other than the camera that I am told is superb and maybe features like Snapchat which is available on android phones, I really don't see the much use of iPhone (no offense intended). I'll rather stick to simple.

Here in Nigeria, data is a challenge, I learned there are some features on iPhone that wouldn't work without data. Maybe misconceptions but, I'm comfortable with my android 😂

It is a little different here in Canada.

Data is fairly plentiful (my plan has 50GB/month) and the phone plans are fairly expensive also ($50CAD/month).

I get to make two choices.

(1) get a slightly cheaper plan with less data (20GB / $35CAD) or
(2) get a new iPhone PRO with a more expensive plan (75GB / $60CAD)

At first glance spending less money for the 20GB plan is better. The 20GB is misleading its actually 20GB at 5G speeds but UNLIMITED at slower speed :)

But on a 2 year contract paying $60/month I pay $1440 for my bill with a final payment of $460 at the end of the contract and get an iPhone valued at $1900. In short: Pay $1900 over 2 years for a phone and get free service. Hard to turn down free!

Which left me with the quandry:

Pay $1900 and get a nice new phone and cellular service / data

or

Pay $840 over two years and keep my current phone which will just get older by the minute. Then again, it still work just fine.

Decisions, decisions, decisions :)

Thanks for your input though. I think its always better to hold money in hand than spend when you don't need to. But a shiny new iPhone was still very tempting :)

Always appreciate the feedback. Thank you.
