Actifit Report 010822: The Nature Center

So yesterday i wanted to do something with the kids to get them out of the house.

They decided to go to the nature center. We have a metropark down the road that has a pretty cool set up for the kids.

First We Went to the Beaver Exhibit

They added this structure just outside the center. It has a beaver den that you can walk in and a couple other statues around the structure.

My favorite is the Beaver that is in the ground, pretending to swim in water (obviously)...

Next Up, The Actual Nature Center

There are several aquarium exhibits (turtle and longnose gar above) and some with just stuffed animals
Like wolves

And ducks

There is a volunteer there who welcomes everyone and gives them an animal tattoo (removable).

There is a bird watching area and another play area that has climbing objects, books, puzzles, and costumes. The kids put on the butterfly wings so they could fly around.

We hung out there for a bit. My son spotted a woodpecker in the bird watching area.

Next we headed outside to see

The Owls

They have an outdoor exhibit of four owls.

We stopped off at a picnic table to eat lunch.

And ended the venture with a walk around

The Boardwalk

It's a nice little getaway and the kids really appreciate how much they can do and see there.
