The Way Too Early AFC East Prediction

I missed @the-sports-nerd show tonight, but seeing that it's Sunday...I needed to get my sports fix in!

So while I was driving to my destination tonight, I decided to come up with my way too early prediction for how the AFC East will go this upcoming NFL season.

Full disclaimer: I'm a Buffalo Bills homer! That being said, I'm trying to be as un-biased as possible. If that's even possible....

I'll go through the other 3 teams and then finish off with my Bills 'crystal ball'....

The New England Patriots (8-9)

Yeah, it's no secret, when I think of franchises that I detest with every fibre of my being, it's the clown show from New England.

We are far removed from Tom Brady now and Patriots fans may hate me for saying this but....Mac Jones ain't it.

I can't see this team competing this year, and coach Bill might call it a career after going sub-500.

The New York Jets (11-6)

What an off season this team had! Actually, going back to last year's draft, I think the Jets are the true challenger for the AFC East title.

Adding Aaron Rodgers helps! Sure, he's in the twilight of his career but he's one of the best ever. Plus they have a stout defence, and a couple of studs in Breece Hall (albeit he's hurt) and Garrett Wilson.

This is young team with hunger, and I think they are a playoff team for sure. Might even take the AFC East but they have to go through Orchard Park!

The Miami Dolphins (10-7)

Look, I get it...They have arguably one of the best 1-2 punch's at wide receiver. But Tua man...I dunno. I don't think Tua is a bad QB, I just don't think he's as elite as the Miami fans would like you to believe.

Still, they have added some big pieces last year and this year to their D. Jalen Ramsey is a legend, and will be insane on the other side of Xavien Howard.

If Miami adds someone like Dalvin Cook in the backfield, I can see them doing very well. But I'm not sold on their O-line.

Miami is the team I hate the least in the AFC East too lolol For what it's worth...

The Buffalo Bills (11-6)

I got the Bills winning the division again, plus the tie break versus New Jersey....Errrr excuse me, New York.

I love what the team did to put protection around Josh this year and adding Damien Harris was the chef's kiss.

The issue for me is....Who is going to stand out and become WR2?

I love the Dalton Kincaid draft pick, and if he figures into the offence, the Bills could be just dynamic on that side of the ball.

Losing Tremaine Edmunds hurt, but I'm excited to see who pairs up with Matt Milano. Lots of opportunities for someone to step up in the linebacker position.

Our secondary is awesome, I love Poyer and Hyde lol Best safety tandem in the league!!!! And our d-line looks beast even with Von Miller potentially on PUP List when the season starts.

So overall....

I have the Bills winning the AFC East, with the Jets as a wild card spot. Miami might creep into the second wild card but the Patriots are cooked lol

What do you think?

Who do you have in the east?

Pats are a 7 win team, 8 maybe.

Bill ain't going anywhere until he gets 19 more wins, which is about two season to three season at this point. Bill is still a great coach, he just sucks at GM.

Not upgrading at LT or an upgrade at WR when there was plenty of free agents available is Bill the GM's fault. Bill the GM has made a lot of bad decisions on offense and when Brady was the QB he made up for those roster mistakes. Brady would move about in the pocket and change the line calls, he would also throw guys open and make defenders change coverage to create openings. Brady was the best QB ever and made the normally terrible WR group look way better than it really was. Mac Jones ain't Brady, and Mac Jones has shit blocking and no weapons to throw to. So he is going to struggle again this year.

7 wins.
