Stephen Hawking stated on several occasions that sending messages to the cosmos could be a very bad idea, for example, during the event, during an event in 2015 he stated that we don't know much about aliens, but we know about humans, and if you look at history, contact between humans and less intelligent organisms has often been disastrous from the point of view of the less intelligent.

And the encounters between civilizations with advanced technologies against primitive technologies have gone badly for the less advanced ones, a civilization that reads one of our messages could be billions of years ahead of us, that's what Hawking said, billions of years ahead of us would be something spectacular and surely if they wanted to extinct us they could do it practically without effort.

If they are in our galaxy, with technology like this, billions of years ahead of ours, I am sure that they already know about our existence and I really would not be worried about such amazingly advanced beings, I would be more worried about beings that are somewhat more advanced than us, because perhaps they share some of our fears and fears.

Someone billions of years old may have motivations and emotions that we cannot even understand; it would be like trying to interpret from the point of view of an ant what the researcher who is observing it thinks, if he is aware that he has a researcher.
