Before the Second One-Day International against Australia in Sydney, South Africa is hoping that Marizanne Kapp, their crucial allrounder will get over her injury of left arm occurred during the opening match played at Adelaide. Scans show no fractures despite being forced off hurt after finishing a substantial half-century, suggesting the potential of her availability for next week’s game at North Sydney Oval.

As per a team spokesperson, Kapp did not partake in the non-compulsory training drill on Tuesday and will be taken through an evaluation closer to match day. With South Africa needing a game to keep pace in the ODI series and minimise points difference during multi-format battle, there is an air of optimism that Kapp could be recalled.

South Africa, although with a defeat that is quite tough in first match still believes they can play against such strong Australian team. Masabata Klaas, speaking about the loss, was convinced that Banyana had enough strength to start winning again in subsequent games.

Australian allrounder Ashleigh Gardner was well aware of the spirited reply she would receive from South Africa during the T20I series. Gardner, this is signaled by the fact that she reminds her team to remain focused and intense as they head into another ODI where it will really be much of a challenge.
