Pero bueno a lo que vamos, este post se tratara de una nueva review de películas 📽 🎞 y esta vez es el turno de una peli que tiene dos años, pero que definitivamente se va a quedar en mi kokoro ❤️ aunque quizás no por razones tan felices como lo iré desvelando a continuación. Hablemos de Digimon Adventure - Last Evolution Kizuna.

But anyway, this post will be about a new movie review 📽🎞 and this time it's the turn of a movie that is two years old, but that will definitely stay in my kokoro ❤️ although maybe not for such happy reasons as I will reveal below. Let's talk about Digimon Adventure - Last Evolution Kizuna.

Por si no se había notado, soy Otaku, pero muy otaku. Ya no veo series tan seguido como antes, debido a las responsabilidades de la vida adulta 🙃 pero estoy estudiando japonés y trato de estar al día con las últimas series de los géneros que me gustan. Así que no es de extrañar que Digimon sea de mis favoritas, sobre todo porque tiene una continuidad, a diferencia de su competencia en la que vemos a una especie de “Peter Pan japonés” que permanece de 10 años, aunque ya debería tener unos 30 🤔

Bueno, para comenzar con esta review, les diré que no es tan necesario tener un conocimiento previo de la serie para disfrutar su mensaje, pues se entiende perfecto sin un marco histórico.

Si quieres disfrutarla sin ser fan, te basta con saber que esta es la historia de “niños” elegidos por criaturas digitales para ser sus amigos y mantener el orden y la paz entre el mundo digital y el real. Esta película se centra en contar la historia de los primeros niños elegidos ahora que ya están por convertirse en adultos propiamente dichos.

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm otaku, but very otaku. I don't watch series as often as I used to, due to the responsibilities of adult life 🙃 but I'm studying Japanese and I try to keep up with the latest series in the genres I like. So it's not surprising that Digimon is one of my favorites, especially because it has continuity, unlike its competition where we see a sort of "Japanese Peter Pan" that stays 10 years old, although it should be about 30 by now 🤔.

Well, to start with this review, I will tell you that it is not so necessary to have a previous knowledge of the series to enjoy its message, because it is perfectly understood without a historical framework.

If you want to enjoy it without being a fan, it is enough to know that this is the story of "kids" chosen by digital creatures to be their friends and keep order and peace between the digital and the real world. This movie focuses on telling the story of the first children chosen now that they are about to become proper adults.

Les contare un poco sobre la animación. En una palabra, fabulosa. El estudio Toei sigue dando la batalla y no se rinde con su contenido family friendly. Obviamente a uno de sus clásicos no podía sino darle lo mejor de su estudio.

La música oh my good, es todo lo que el fan quiere escuchar, están las melodías clásicas que nos hacen vibrar de emoción cada vez que las escuchamos, pero si no sabes de nada esto, no te preocupes, la música es genial y dan la ambientación perfecta para la película.

Ahora, en cuanto al argumento de la película, puedo decirles que está muy bien logrado y trabajado, tanto del punto de vista japonés como el del occidental. Esto es importante aclararlo porque la industria del anime y el manga se está dando cuenta que el pez gordo de su negocio está en el publico occidental, y por lo general, a nosotros no nos gusta un final abierto o triste si no está perfectamente justificado.

Bueno, para darles mi opinión personal de esta película debo primero volver a poner mi corazón y mi mente en orden, porque algo que jamás esperé, fue que esta película fuera tan increíblemente profunda, al punto de hacerme llorar

I will tell you a little about the animation. In a word, fabulous. Toei studio keeps on fighting the battle and doesn't give up with its family friendly content. Obviously to one of their classics they couldn't but give the best of their studio.

The music oh my good, is everything the fan wants to hear, there are the classic melodies that make us vibrate with emotion every time we listen to them, but if you don't know any of this, don't worry, the music is great and gives the perfect setting for the movie.

Now, as for the plot of the film, I can tell you that it is very well done and worked, both from the Japanese point of view as well as the western one. This is important to clarify because the anime and manga industry is realizing that the big fish of their business is in the western audience, and in general, we do not like an open or sad ending if it is not perfectly justified.

Well, to give you my personal opinion of this movie I must first get my heart and mind back in order, because something I never expected, was that this movie would be so incredibly deep, to the point of making me cry.

¿Qué me pasa con Digimon? Lo que creo que le paso a muchos niños de los 90 y principios de los 2000. Digimon era nuestros “Cien años de soledad”, ese realismo mágico llevado a la imaginación de un niño. Creernos que existía la posibilidad de ser elegidos para tener un adorable compañero listo para luchar y defender los límites entre la realidad y el mundo virtual.

En esos tiempos la computación estaba “digievolucionando” en todos los sentidos, así que sentíamos que no sería raro que en nuestra computadora apareciera un huevo con un precioso amigo dentro. Para los que no podíamos tener mascotas, esto era como una “solución divina” y la posibilidad de una aventura.

Entonces ¿Qué pasa con esta película? Es como despertar de un bello sueño donde recuerdas algo maravilloso de tu infancia y luego te queda esa tristeza de saber que no vas a poder regresar por mucho que lo intentes. Eso es lo que pasa con la última entrega de este Kannon. Los niños se están haciendo adultos y “es hora de madurar”

What's happend with me with Digimon? What I think happened to a lot of kids in the 90's and early 2000's. Digimon was our "One Hundred Years of Solitude", that magical realism brought to a child's imagination. Believing that there was the possibility of being chosen to have an adorable companion ready to fight and defend the boundaries between reality and the virtual world.

At that time computing was "digievolving" in every sense, so we felt that it would not be unusual for an egg to appear on our computer with a precious friend inside. For those of us who couldn't have pets, this was like a "divine solution" and the possibility of an adventure.

So what about this movie? It's like waking up from a beautiful dream where you remember something wonderful from your childhood and then you're left with that sadness of knowing you're not going to be able to go back no matter how hard you try. That's what happens with the latest installment of this Kannon. The kids are becoming adults and "it's time to grow up."

No importa si te escondes, si pataleas o dices que es injusto. Poco a poco, con las responsabilidades de la vida y de cada día nos vamos haciendo más adultos y muchas veces, olvidamos como es sentir esa emoción de cuando éramos pequeños, teniendo esperanzas y grandes planes para nuestro futuro.

En pocas palabras siento que es como si nuestra infancia desapareciera y nos dijera, este es el mundo real y tienes que vivir aquí, se acabó el sueño. A medida que el mensaje se hacía más y más evidente confieso que sentí que la película era una 💩 pero luego mi esposo me ayudo a comprender algo importante.

“Si empatizas con la villana, es que no tienes esperanza en tu futuro, quedarse estancado en una etapa para siempre es como la muerte misma. No avanzas más, no sigues buscando otros sueños”

It doesn't matter if you hide, if you kick or say it's unfair. Little by little, with the responsibilities of life and every day we are becoming more grown up and many times, we forget what it's like to feel that excitement of when we were little, having hopes and big plans for our future.

In a few words I feel as if our childhood disappeared and told us, this is the real world and you have to live here, the dream is over. As the message became more and more evident I confess I felt the movie was a 💩 but then my husband helped me understand something important.

"If you empathize with the villain, you have no hope for your future, staying stuck in one stage forever is like death itself. You don't move forward, you don't keep looking for other dreams."

Eso fue como “ok, creo que tengo que revisarme”. Pero creo que todos los que veamos esta película tenemos que revisarnos y hacernos una serie de preguntas importantes pero que continuamos ignorando por no conocer su respuesta o por no poder ser sinceros.

¿Estamos felices con nuestra vida?, ¿Estamos haciendo lo que de verdad queremos hacer? ¿Cuál es mi sueño real, no el que la sociedad me auto-impone? ¿Qué pasa si me siento perdido?

Esas no son preguntas para responder una tarde, puede que la respuesta a una sola de ellas tarde al menos un año en aparecer. Pero será un año bien invertido.

La película da algunas luces sobre estos asuntos, pero por supuesto son temas demasiado personales y únicos para cada persona.

That was like "ok, I think I need to check myself." But I think all of us who watch this movie have to check ourselves and ask ourselves a series of important questions but that we continue to ignore because we don't know the answer to them or because we can't be honest.

Are we happy with our lives?, are we doing what we really want to do?, what is my real dream, not the one that society imposes on me?, what if I feel lost?

Those are not questions to be answered in an afternoon; it may take at least a year for the answer to any one of them to appear. But it will be a year well spent.

The film sheds some light on these issues, but of course they are issues that are too personal and unique to each person.

Lo siguiente que sucede con esta película es que nos recuerda que no somos, ni nada es eterno. Creo que los guionistas querían simbolizar a los Digimons como la personificación de nuestra infancia, y como cada vez nos desentendemos más y más de ella y de todas nuestras ilusiones y potencial, pero tal vez, no se dieron cuenta que estas criaturas también pueden identificarse con nuestras mascotas.

Quien haya perdido a una mascota sabe lo doloroso y lo traumatizante que puede ser. Es de esas cosas que uno no desea experimentar, pero tampoco podemos evitar amarlas y cuidarlas. Pero cuando llega el momento de despedirse es duro. Queremos complacerlas y nos hace replantearnos miles de cosas, sobre si le dimos la mejor vida que pudo tener, si lo amamos todo lo que podíamos amarlo. Pero la cuestión fundamental es, si le dimos el tiempo que merecían.

Y esa es la cosa… el tiempo. Un elemento escurridizo, se va minuto a minuto, día a día, hasta llegar a un punto en el que te preguntas si hiciste todo lo que debías con tu tiempo, si amaste a tu mascota y a los tuyos todo lo que debías amarlos y muchas veces creemos que la respuesta es no. Pero lo que pasamos por alto es que el amor es una cosa rara y maravillosa, mientras más das, se hace más grande.

The next thing about this movie is that it reminds us that we are not, nor is anything eternal. I think the screenwriters wanted to symbolize the Digimons as the personification of our childhood, and how we become more and more disengaged from it and all our illusions and potential, but perhaps, they didn't realize that these creatures can also identify with our pets.

Anyone who has lost a pet knows how painful and traumatizing it can be. It's one of those things you don't want to experience, but you can't help but love and care for them. But when it comes time to say goodbye, it's hard. We want to please them and it makes us rethink a thousand things, about whether we gave them the best life they could have had, whether we loved them as much as we could love them. But the fundamental question is, did we give him the time he deserved.

And that's the thing... time. An elusive element, it goes minute by minute, day by day, until you reach a point where you ask yourself if you did everything you should have with your time, if you loved your pet and your loved ones as much as you should have loved them and many times we believe the answer is no. But what we overlook is that love is a rare and wonderful thing, the more you give, the bigger it gets.

Esta película también plantea un asunto interesante. ¿Qué pasa cuando hay niños desesperados por crecer? De niños a todos nos pasa que queremos ser grandes para tomar nuestras decisiones y que nuestras opiniones cuenten. Percibimos la infancia como una etapa molesta, en la que debemos obedecer sin chistar y no podemos hacer todo lo que deseamos.

Bueno, personalmente creo que cuando esas personas se dan cuenta de lo que perdieron sufren una gran crisis, peor de que todos sufrimos al darnos cuenta que no podemos regresar atrás, pues estas personas concentran toda su energía al único objetivo de crecer y madurar, sin disfrutar de las cosas propias de la infancia.

Y bueno hasta aquí les dejo mi muy personal Review sobre Digimon Adventure - Last Evolution Kizuna. ¿Es un final digno para esta saga? Es una cuestión de percepción, yo hubiese deseado que no terminara del todo, pero entiendo que era necesario este cierre para darle sentido al mensaje de la película. De todas formas, se ira abriendo espacio en mi corazón, porque creo que debo todavía meditar sobre su gran mensaje. Hasta otra review.

This film also raises an interesting issue, what happens when children are desperate to grow up? It happens to all of us as children that we want to be big enough to make our own decisions and have our opinions count. We perceive childhood as an annoying stage, where we must obey without complaint and can't do everything we want.

Well, I personally believe that when these people realize what they lost they suffer a great crisis, worse than all of us suffer when we realize that we cannot go back, because these people concentrate all their energy to the only objective of growing up and maturing, without enjoying the things of childhood.

And well, this is my very personal review of Digimon Adventure - Last Evolution Kizuna. Is it a worthy ending for this saga? It's a matter of perception, I would have wished it didn't end at all, but I understand that this closure was necessary to give sense to the message of the movie. Anyway, it will be opening space in my heart, because I think I still have to meditate on its great message. Until another review.
