Brentford 1 - 4 Liverpool; More injury crisis for the Reds.

I'm writing this off the back of the interesting EPL fixture between Brentford and Liverpool. Wow! I'm not the biggest fan of watching Liverpool play early Kick-offs, but I couldn't complain about that today because Liverpool also has a mid-week Carabao Cup fixture which will be followed by an intense FA Cup final against Chelsea.

Stepping into the game against Brentford, I wanted a win for Liverpool. I enjoy watching Liverpool win convincingly, but I couldn't even be optimistic about that because our starting XI is experiencing a meltdown since recent gameweeks. This has been due to injury reports, illnesses, and whatnot. At the moment, Salah and Endo are back from their international duty but we still have some concerns in the squad.

For example, we started today's game without Alisson in the squad sheet. I heard he's dealing with an injury. Same with Trent. Salah is finally back to the squad but didn't get into the starting lineup for obvious reasons. The lineup of players for today's game isn't bad though. I've learned to be more confident with whatever Klopp puts up, even when it looks uninspiring.

The first 25 minutes of this game weren't what Liverpool fans would have wanted. We were sloppy with our passes in midfield and Brentford pressed hard. Ivan Toney posed a great threat in that opening section of the game. He looked dangerous whenever he had the ball and even as a Liverpool fan, I couldn't hide how fascinating it felt to see Brentford transition from defense to attack with just two to three passes.

They had their moments, but couldn't make anything out of it. Liverpool started waking up to the game and finally broke the deadlock in the 35th minute, thanks to a counterattacking masterclass. The goal came from a counterattack which was forced by a long ball clearance by VVD. Diogo challenged for the ball and picked up Darwin with a header. Nunez didn't mess around with that. He scored!

The first half ended in favor of Liverpool, but at a great cost because Jones and Jota were forced off the pitch due to injury.

The second half started nicely for Liverpool. Salah's position was explored by Liverpool and we created a lot of chances from there. He had goalscoring opportunities but missed a few chances. He still stepped up in the 54th minute of the game to deliver a sumptuous pass to Macca. 14 minutes later, Salah also got into the score sheet with a goal which was the 3rd goal of the game.

Brentford were not going down without a fight. Ivan Toney managed to get one goal for them through a rebound in the 74th minute. Liverpool bounced back afterward to seal the game in the 86th minute with a goal from Cody Gakpo. The assist for that goal came from Diaz. And, that wrapped up the scoreline in today's game.

People are getting salty about Endo and the number of bookings he gets in a game. Well, I'm not going to make bones about that because Endo is getting booked for making tactical fouls. He did the dirty job in that midfield and as far as he doesn't pick up a careless red card, I will always give him his flowers.

Liverpool seem to set their focus on grinding out the desired results after their loss against Arsenal. I feel it will cost a great deal to get them out of the first spot. It's the Epl anyway its a league full of surprises.

That's true. Liverpool can't afford to sit back and relax, especially when they still have a lot of games to play in this season of the EPL.

Their injury issues are also becoming a big concern

I really wish Liverpool maintains their first position, though this injuries are worrisome but the city draw this weekend gives me some hope

Yeah. City got away in their previous game with just a point. I'm watching out for the game they have tonight. Haha. It would be interesting to see how the rest of their EPL season would unfold.
