Brentford 3 - 2 Liverpool | Liverpool is surely in Crisis!

Okay... This football thing is becoming super hard for Liverpool. Seriously, Liverpool's performance this season is too far off from what I expected it to be.

Before the first game of the season, many football folks were looking at Liverpool as major favorites in all competition. However, Liverpool have been very poor for the vast majority of the season.

Even in games we won, we still failed to put up a convincing performance until we faced Frankfurt in mid-week. That was our best performance of the season;

• Loads of chances created.

• 5 solid goals scored by 5 different goalscorers.

• We controlled the game from beginning to end.

Yeah!

All that happened after we lost 4 games in a row. However, winning that game doesn't equate to us being back!

That win was just against Frankfurt. No disrespect to them and their ranking in the German league. However, The English Premier League is far more intense and competitive than German league.

I knew Liverpool needed to prove themselves today against Brentford.

They sure failed miserably!

We got completely outplayed by Brentford. Liverpool felt lost during the game. It felt like we were not playing the same sport.

Getting an early goal also helped Brentford. They got that goal even before I was able to jump on the live stream of the match. I just knew we already conceded a goal through X (Twitter) notifications which was buzzing while I was about to start watching the game.

It's one thing to be a goal down that early in the game. It's even worse to be in that position and still be playing sluggishly.

That's exactly what Liverpool did!

We sluggishly accepted being a goal down. Our backline were focused on exchanging sideways passes to each other and also making back pass instead of making forward passes.

It was painful to watch Liverpool struggle to create any decent chance for the vast majority of that first half. Our attackers were also struggling in so many ways. They failed to create decent chances for each other.

Brentford doubled their lead in the first half just before Liverpool got one in. The first half ended 2 - 1 with Brentford being a goal ahead.

That's unfavorable!

However, it's a lot better than being 2 goals down at halftime.

That's what I thought though. I expected Liverpool to come firing on all cylinders in the second half. However, Liverool had other plans. They became even more sluggish from the beginning of the second half until we gifted Brentford a silly penalty.

They scored the penalty and became two goals ahead, again!

Liverpool managed to get 1 more in to push the scoreline to 3 - 2 before the final whistle.

Surely not a good day at the office for Liverpool!
