EPL/FPL: Gameweek 5 Hot takes.

There is a narrative being pushed about the performance of Manchester United in this gameweek and some folks are going wild with the impression that Manchester United losing to Brighton is a shocking result. Do you buy that? Is it a surprise that Manchester United got schooled by Brighton?

The name Manchester United has become a joke in recent times and I must say that the Manchester of this era losing to a hungry team like Brighton should never be a surprise to a genuine football fan. Just look at Manchester United's recent performance. It's been a big disgrace and their fans are going through all the stages of grief whenever Man United are playing games, regardless of the opposition.

It's just Brighton and they got schooled. Imagine what will be the case when they match up against Bayern Munich in their Champions League opener on 20th September. Just think about that for a second. Send your warm regards to a Man United fan. They need all the encouragement they can get. Haha.

What about Chelsea?

Daymmm!

Do we also need to talk about Chelsea and their performance in this gameweek? Chelsea fans wouldn't want to hear this but their beloved squad's performance isn't any different from that of the folks on the red side of Manchester. Chelsea has one of the most expensive teams in the league, yet, surprisingly, a case can be made about them being one of the worst teams in the league.

Some teams you wouldn't expect are walking into a crisis and some of the ones that are getting the job done are the teams we usually refer to as mid-table teams. This season is still fresh... I know. But while there is room for improvement, chances are still high that things will get worse for some teams.

By the way, how many EPL managers do you think are going to lose their jobs before December? ETH? Pochettino?

Big shoutout to Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and Brighton. They are among the teams that got the job done in a stylish way this gameweek. All eyes will still be on Nottingham Forest in their Monday night fixture against Burnley.

FPL managers, what's your take on this gameweek?

In the last game before heading into the International break, I analyzed my team and the average FPL performance of other teams and saw the need to introduce Haaland into my squad. I could have done this over 4 gameweeks, but I FOMOed and decided to do 4 transfers in one gameweek at the cost of 12 points. Haha.

Rough stuff!

I'm now in the Haaland boat and I hope I will get to milk the Viking like every other FPL manager. He got a fairly decent performance this gameweek after fighting hard to get a goal in that game. You need to see the feeling of relief I felt when he finally scored.

That 12 points is a fairly decent payoff for the cost I incurred to bring him into my squad. Now, we can start climbing the FPL ladder. Haha.

Alvarez though. He got some sticks last season for being in Haaaland's shadow, but the young champ is proving that he's capable of doing great things. He's been bringing home decent points since this season and he's relatively cheap.

Gameweek 5 was as good as it gets. All eyes will now be on the European competitions that will be played this midweek.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma.

All well said, Manchester United did woefully in this game week and it's time I remove Bruno Fernandez from my team. I wasn't expecting much from Chelsea so it didn't surprise me.

Liverpool made me happy, seeing the team bag points even with a floppy defence is a huge deal for me. I hope the form continues, cheers to a beautiful week.

Yeah. Liverpool are squeezing out wins even when odds are against them. Their performance in this game week is a very good redemption. The first half was awful, but the second half is a lot different.

I didn't watch the match but I was so surprise to hear that Manchester was beaten by such a small club. Sha, from what you said, I understand that, things aren't going too well for them in this recent times.. the Manchester I use to hear about those days were on fire, I pray they get back on their feet though.

My arsenal are doing well, heheh, I will soon start doing this football something, I don't want to be totally left out again🤣🤣

Shey I am improving boss?? 😂😂

Haha... I know that feeling especially when it's been a while since you've watched football. The Manchester United of years ago is no longer the Manchester United of this era. Besides, a lot of teams have upgraded their performance so, no team is considered too little in the league any more. Haha

From your comment, it seems like you've decided to start supporting Arsenal. Haha. That's a good one oooo. Welcome to this footballing adventure. Haha
