Gameweek 4 Preview | Will this be another hit-or-miss gameweek?

I don't ever want to be giving credit to Manchester City, but I have to be unbiased here. They have proved to be a force under Pep and their squad is well endowed. The good news though is that they are desperate to win the Champions League and I think they will be more focused on that than the premier league.

Sadly, I have to begrudgingly accept that Liverpool may not be in the title race from what we are already seeing after the first 3 gameweeks of the season.

We seem to be going through a lot of difficulties and it's affecting our overall performance in games, but all these can be worked on. There can be an adjustment in the mentality shift. Few months ago, Liverpool were described as the 'mentality monsters'. We need to see that Liverpool side again.

At the moment, it seems like we are already out of the title race. I know a lot of games still have to be played, but it does not seem like we will be getting the 92 or 95 points needed to challenge for titles in EPL. That's the sad reality we are facing, but the major focus at the moment should be for Liverpool to get back to the level where they can win games easily against the Leeds, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth of this era.

Anyway, talking about Bournemouth, we'd have a game with them today.

I can't imagine a world where we will lose 4 games in a row at the start of the season, but seeing how we performed in the previous games, it will be best to keep expectations low as we go into this game. I hope the boys prove me wrong and get a very convincing win. I would love that.

Interestingly, I'm trying to imagine what our lineup will be like. Whatever happens, it's still obvious that our is wack. If Bournemouth manages to keep their backline tight until the 60th minute, Liverpool will find themselves in all sorts of issues because there is no quality in our bench at the moment.

Enough about Liverpool. Let's have a look at other interesting fixtures that are scheduled for the day.

Manchester United will visit Southampton. This will be a true test for them. Not necessarily because of the quality of Southampton, but I'm sure the footballing world is watching to see if their win against Liverpool was a sign of something new for Ten Hag's era at Manchester United.

Chelsea lost all 3 points against Leeds in the previous game week. They will be welcoming Leicester City this afternoon in a fixture which promises to have a lot of intensity. This will be a cracker.

Manchester City is also up against Crystal Palace today after sharing points with Newcastle in the previous gameweek. Knowing Man City for what they are capable of doing, I believe this game will be dead and buried by the end of the first half. Haha. I hope not, but we will see how it unfolds.

Arsenal on the other hand has been enjoying a rollercoaster ride since this season. They have a 100% winning record and they win convincingly. I expect nothing less from them as they welcome Fulham to the Emirates.

Before we call it a wrap, let's dive into FPL.

My team is cooked and ready for another hit-or-miss week. Haha. Check that out.

Hmm, Liverpool better win today, I want a Salah and Arnold masterclass. As for City vs palace it's not going to be so easy oo, Palace usually gives city a tough time, even last season city only took a point from their two games against palace, couple that with the fact that they're on form. All that being said, I still expect city to win, just not easily.

Yeah. I think the performance we saw from City last week will be a wake up call for them. I believe they will try to get the job done in the first half.

What I noticed about Crystal Palace this time around is the way they utilize their chances. If they get 3 chances, they usually bury 1 of those. It will be nice to see how it works out.

As for Liverpool, I finally got rid of Van Dijk in my team. I'm okay with Salah and Arnold, but will introduce Nunez once he comes back since the other forwards in my team (aside from Jesus) have high odd of scoring.

FPL is another ball game entire.
I am taken a cursory look at what Liverpool will do to Bournemouth today. It is a compulsory win for the Reds.

Compulsory win? That's not enough. It is a compulsory win with a clean sheet to booth, else...

Your team looks solid, but I've never been the type that relies on my defence for most points. A lot can easily go wrong for defenders; one freak shot, some stupid penalty, a funny own goal and your defenders will return binary figures.

Yeah. That's what I discovered after the first two weeks. I had to move VVD & Coutinho out to bring in De Bruyne.

I'm considering either Arnold or James to be shipped. Then, I will be able to afford someone like Nunez as soon as he gets back into the team or Haaland.

It's very easy to lose points with so many defenders in the team

I'll probably swap one of James, Cancelo or Arnold for a less expensive defender. My midfield is too weak. My formation down the years has always been 3-4-3. With Jesus and Nunez readily available now at mid-price range, it's time I got back to basics.

Liverpool running riot already against Bournemouth and that's good for their confidence. With Manchester City losing already, Kevin De Bruyne might cost a lot of people points. Salah need to find the back of the net too. I can't even predict if this will be another hit or miss week.

Yes oooooo. This first half of the game was very satisfactory. Haha. It's so cool. Meanwhile, Manchester City are getting it tough from Crystal Palace. Lolzzzzz

I sold VVD last week and he is getting clean sheet plus a goal. I also bought De Bruyne last week, but nothing from him. Lolzzzzz.

I hope Salah gets to do something in second half

Salah is my only hope for many this week since City are getting whooped 🤣😂. I hope Gabriel Jesus turn up too. I picked a different line up after I saw the heart break from many people last week. 🤣

Hahah... It's pretty much the same for me. Sterling have been in my team for 3 weeks. Sold him for this week and dude is already scoring bangers

My guy... Van Dijk also scored today. And Salah couldn't even get an assist when liverpool scored every 10 minutes of the game.

This FPL thing is insane. Hahah. I was fuming throughout the game. Only TAA came to my rescue. De Bruyne couldn't even get on the score sheet when I spent so much to get him into my squad.

This is a real Mess 😂. the only positive I can take away from today's game is that Liverpool are back to winning ways

🤣 I can imagine. I saw @olawalium status ranting that FPL isn't for him. He was annoyed with Salah, Saka and De Bruyne. I couldn't laugh. Kane came through for me today.
