Liverpool 1 - 0 Man City: What a beauty!

We've finally come to the end of Gameweek 11 in the English Premier League and it's very exciting to end this gameweek with the fixture between Liverpool and Manchester City.

What a game! What a beauty!

We will be talking about the game that was played in Anfield, but before that, what do y'all make of the officiating of Anthony Taylor?

There are so many talking points in the game, but the officiating of Anthony Taylor and the decisions he made are bringing up a lot of questions. It appears that every game week comes with horrendous officiating for English referees. I genuinely can't wait to see what English FA has to do about that.

Jurgen Klopp couldn't hold it together and ended up getting a red card, but I'm glad he said his piece before stepping into the tunnel.

Back to the game proper;

Liverpool is undoubtedly having their worst start to the season in the last couple of years. Despite the surprising 7-1 win we got in the mid-week Champions League, there were still doubts about our chances of surviving the attacking force of Manchester City.

It gets more interesting when you consider the fact that our defensive line has been weak for most of the season. Konate and Matip were also ruled out due to injury and Trent is just recovering from a minor injury.

The starting line-up for Liverpool in comparison to that of Manchester City was not displaying liverpool as a powerful opposition. It was like Jurgen placed our fate on a wheel of fortune.

I, for one, was not happy to see Milner in that RB position, but we are left with no reasonable option. I also expected Nunez to start, but thank goodness because that might have been a very horrendous decision.

Milner proved all doubters wrong. He stood firm in the RB position, did the defensive duty nicely and helped massively in the attack. I must say that I've never been happier to be proven wrong.

As for Darwin Nunez, I've always been supportive of the lad, but he makes it hard to support him. He had an estimate of 25 minutes playing time, got 2 goal-scoring opportunities and also got two opportunities to assist either Salah or Jota.

Guess what?

He found a way to mess everything up. He could have easily finished the game with 2 goals and 2 assists, but he managed to make multiple memes of himself. As far as his performance in this game is concerned, I wash my hands off him like the biblical Pontius Pilate.

Back to the good stuff;

• If you were ever in doubt, be informed that Mo. Salah is back.

• The real Virgil Van Dijk played today.

• Alison Becker. You samba dancer!

It was nice to see Trent come into the game in the added time. It shows that the injury he had was not a serious one and I'm looking forward to seeing Liverpool build on this game and set their record straight for the rest of the season.
