Man United 2 - 2 Liverpool; The intensity goes wild in EPL title race.

A game between Manchester United and Liverpool always has an interesting build-up. The rivalry between both sides goes far back in history and I've had the pleasure of watching both teams against each other in several competitions.

Today's game is a sentimental one for both fans because Liverpool got knocked out of the FA Cup tournament last month by Manchester United. So, Liverpool will be stepping into this game to prove a point. In addition to that, they also need to get a win in this to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League Table.

Here are the notable events that played out in the game;

Manchester (2) - (2) Liverpool

The first minute of the game showed an intense attack from Manchester United. They managed to get a goal in the first minute of the game. However, the goal was an obvious offside and was ruled out for that reason. The rest of that first half was Liverpool's half of the game.

Liverpool had a very slow transition of play from midfield to attack and lacked composure within the first 20 minutes of the game. It felt like Liverpool rushed into the game and it was obvious because their passes became sloppy. They ended up making a lot of mistakes. Things changed slightly after Liverpool got a goal in the 23rd minute of the game. Diaz scored the goal, thanks to an assist from Nunez.

After scoring the only goal of the first half, Liverpool controlled the rest of that half and created a ton of chances. However, we couldn't bury any of the chances. Many would say that Liverpool could have easily finished the first half with 4 goals in their favor. Well, that didn't happen.

Second Half...

It was barely 5 minutes into the second half before Chelsea scored a goal to get back into the game. The goal came from a disasterclass in Liverpool's backline. It started with Quansah who gave a very poor pass to VVD. The pass was a very weak one and was quickly intercepted by Bruno. At that point, Kelleher was already away from the post and out of position. Bruno used just a touch to level a shot into the net.

Man United got back in the game and pushed even harder. Their pressure on Liverpool's defense paid off. They managed to get another goal in the 67th minute of the game. That goal was a bitter one for Liverpool fans to watch. At that moment, we lost our position at the top and were a point behind Arsenal.

Liverpool managed to win a penalty in the 84th minute of the game. Salah stepped up and nailed the penalty kick to level the scoreline. That's pretty much how the scoreline ended. Each team had to settle with a point each and this puts Liverpool on the same point with Arsenal who are already top of the EPL table, thanks to their goal difference.

Liverpool's performance in this game wasn't nearly as inspiring as I expected. The good news though is that the EPL title challenge is getting more intense. I look forward to how the table will look on Gameweek 38.

I was disappointed by the scoreline, Liverpool would now hope for arsenal to drop points because their goal difference is massive.
I don't know why a struggling Man U side is always difficult for Liverpool to beat.

Even in the last minute of extra time, I believed Liverpool are capable of winning a game against this Man United side without much trouble. They already knocked us out of FA Cup and we just messed up today's game again.

Liverpool really need to be at their best from now until end of the season.

Though I hardly watch movies but whenever top teams are facing most especially in the premier league, it is always something of fun and excitement. For them to have ended in draw, it must have been a strong battle between both teams

Yeah. It was a very tough game between both sides and a draw is a good representation of what happened in the game. Although, that draw will always feel like a loss to all Liverpool fans because it negatively affected their chances of winning the EPL title this season.
