Today I heard that Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys has passed. He was the main song writer as well as sometime lead singer and bass guitar and piano player for the band. They popularized the California Surf sound of the early and mid 1960s.

This YouTube music video is of the Beach Boys on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 just months after The Beatles were on there for a few weeks in a row. I detect a slight shift in the guitar sound from the record of this song to this Live performance, in the direction of sounding like The Beatles, which is not surprising as The Beatles ruled the 60s.
There is Brian on bass, singing some of the higher notes. Enjoy!

I think this one was a hit in 1963 or so. This YouTube music video is a lyric video on the official Beach Boys YouTube channel. This song which was kind of a re-write of Sweet Little 16 by Chuck Berry from the late 50s.

Now we go all the way to the beginning. This is 1962 and The Beach Boys were just getting started. But I still hear this in certain clubs especially around this time of year. Everyone is excited about the summer and about the beach, so The Beach Boys get played by the DJ. Check out the guys and girls catching some waves on their surf boards!

My Activity
today resulted in a number you can actually see because the actifit app Did work for me today. It is not a big number because I took a short walk in the eve since I had already been outside lifting my barbells and dumbbells earlier in the day. I lifted the dumbbells on a mini trampoline also known these days as a rebounder that I got from a friend a few months ago. I haven't used it much but I figured it would be good for the core muscles to bounce on the rebounder as I lifted the dumbbell!
I saw the full moon on my short walk but just through the trees. It was low in the sky. I hope you got to go out and see it too!
