My Actifit Report Card: August 15 2025 - TRUMP + PUTIN = No Deal Yet

I spent a few hours today watching news programs regarding the meeting of Trump and Putin in Alaska. There was No Deal for a Cease Fire or even a second meeting, but both might still happen.

I watch coverage on different channels because TV is tribal just like society. They spin things to make the In Group they favor look good while making the Out Group look bad. As a responsible citizen I feel it is important to get news from several perspectives so I don't fall prey to Confirmation Bias.

This short video has just over 2 minutes of a clip from Trump's post-meeting statement and one from Putin. This is not one of the channels I watched coverage of the event on, but it is on YouTube and it's a decent partial summary from the men themselves without commentary.

There was plenty of commentary in the comments though! Some took issue with the phrase, there's no deal until there is a deal. I think the point is, it is all or nothing. Until you have a deal, you may have made progress toward a future deal but at this moment there is nothing, No Deal! That phrase is in the Video's title but not actually in the clip. But Trump did say that.

I'm not big on politics or discussing (or arguing) about it online. But if you have thoughts, feel free to share in the comment section.

I'm more interested in Sociology which is basically how people behave in groups. I try to reduce Tribalism by not participating. I'm interested in hearing all sides of various issues in politics and religion and the proper use of the shared reward pool. :) I can learn something from all sides if I don't choose to ignore certain viewpoints before I even consider them, which is a common thing these days. Talk less, listen more!

My Activity

today was some high knees, squats, 35 inclined pushups some dumbbell sets and bent rows with heavier dumbbells.

I did take a nice walk at night even though it was hot and humid out there. It is August so what else can we expect!
