Oldie, Just Like Me, from 1965
I like all kinds of pop music especially guitar based songs. I remember the first time I heard Just Like Me by Paul Revere and The Raiders on some oldies radio station. I was super impressed with the twangy guitar solo in the middle which lasted pretty long and had 2 guitars playing lead at the same time.
I was into punk and metal mostly at that time. This song wasn't that but it had loud snotty vocals and simple 4 chord backing so it was satisfying to this punk metal kid.
Now thanks to YouTube I find that Just Like Me is a cover song! The original came out a few months earlier in 1965 by a band called The Wilde Knights. This version is a little faster and less polished. There is a bridge before the guitar solo that didn't make it into the cover. The solo is actually similar. Also twangy but just one guitar.

My Activity
There's still plenty of snow on the ground and on the roads by me. I went out and shoveled some more of it. So that was my main activity other than wandering around the house wishing I could get out and take a walk.
I managed to get 8K which is pretty good, considering.
Tomorrow it will be near 50 degrees and I think most of what is left will melt. I may be able to walk, or if it is too wet out I may wait another day. Luckily I had nothing planned and had stocked up in advance so I didn't have to go out and drive in this snow over the last few days.

The Wilde Knights rocked out on that one, I like the speed and lack of polish in the original! To those of us who love punk and metal it's a much better fit! Paul Revere and The Raiders weren't bad either. Very cool find on the original band!

Old but gold. I'm more of a 90s kid who doesn't like old songs then but I now appreciate songs from the 80s and backwards.
