Hey everyone! Happy Mid Autumn Festival! Also called Mooncake Festival or even Lantern Festival here in Malaysia. Well technically it is Mid Autumn Festival where we eat mooncakes and the kids play with lanterns. We like the lanterns which use real candles. Nowadays they sell battery powered lanterns. No fun those things! Today the moon is supposed to be at its biggest and brightest but it is a very cloudy night tonight so it was mostly hidden behind the clouds. I did catch a glimpse of it before the clouds hid it again and it was beautiful!

It was a fun end to my day today as the kids were so happy being able to play with lanterns, candles and FIRE!! Yes we were watching them like a hawk the whole time. I do however miss the days before COVID when families and children would go to the parks and lakes at night to walk with their lanterns to celebrate. It was really so fun and really beautiful to see all the lanterns and lights. I hope that soon, we will be able to do that again. Next time if you are here in Malaysia around this time in September, come over and we will have mooncakes and a lantern for you!


Candles galore

So today was a really busy day for me because work was really full on. Payroll started yesterday and today we were just in the thick of it. Hence, most of today was spent in front of the computer and spreadsheets. After 6 pm, I just couldn't take it anymore and we all went to the park to get some exercise and fresh air. We met our neighbour who was also out for walk with her nephews. The boys do like playing together so it was nice to watch them.


Hop, hop, hop up the stairs

It was bicycles and badminton for the boys including hubby but just plain old walking for me. My knee still feels tight and sometimes unsteady. I am going to start cycling soon but I reckon that badminton is still some time away. All the jerking and changing of directions is not going to be very kind to my knee.

Chasing after each other just before going home

After 9 days, I am still no where near my 10K goal. Today was just 7,132 steps. I never realised how much activity you need to do to achieve the 10,000 step goal. I would never achieve on a typical work day unless, I did the early morning walk and the evening walk. Plus working from home doesn't help. All you do is walk from the bedroom to the kitchen and then to my study room and out again to the hall. Unless you live in a mansion, that isn't going to add that many more steps. So I really got to figure out how to get that 10k steps over the next few days.

It is now really past the kiddos bedtime and it's a school night. We made an exception today because of the Mid Autumn Festival.
