That was us all happy and starting out...before the fall!

Nothing like ending the week with a bad fall of my scooter today. Yes, we didn't end up take our bikes out as we had some friends who wanted to join us today and because their kids don't ride that well, we all decided to rent the electric scooters in the park and try something different for a change.


Still happy scootering...

Within the first half an hour or so, our friend and their kid had two tumbles. One worse than the other but luckily they tumbled off the grassy side of the path. As for me a took a tumble on the concrete area and it happened so fast, I didn't even know what happened. One moment I was on the scooter and the next thing brain was telling me that I am going to fall off and the next second I was on the floor. I am grateful that I was dressed in long pants and sleeves though I didn't have a helmet on and no pads. So my clothes were pretty roughed up as I landed face down kind sideways and hit my cheek and lip. My boobs kind of took some of the impact but I slided a little on the concrete, so I have tiny hole on my shirt and a thin spot on my exercise pants. I felt pretty banged up but overall I am just glad that I didn't get hurt worse.

Electric scooters can be very dangerous as they can go quite fast. If you have not helmet and other pads to protect yourself, you can get hurt pretty badly. Sigh...for me this year, it has been one "accident' one after another. Knee, then tailbone, bicycle fall and now scooter fall. I am really starting to feel every ache and pain. I am wondering if I am getting more clumsy or my reactions are slower and I am not as nimble as I used to be.


We got caught in a heavy downpour on the way back to the car so I took a shot before we left.

I really really need to be more careful and remember to act my age. Now, I understand why older people refrain from doing some stuff. I used to think when I was younger why is it that people don't want to do like an activity that seems ok to me. So I really need to continue to build strength in my muscle and continue to be nimble. You can't do that when you are carrying extra kilos around. So much more to do...this year has been a real eye opener. I really need to look after my health and body. Something that I have taken for granted for many years now.

Ok, I am going to crawl into bed whilst icing my bruised cheek until I fall asleep. Oh yes, I also need to swallow a painkiller. You see that is something else that I remember very distinctly...I had no need for pain killers. But lately, it would seem that my pain threshold in now lower or the pain is getting worse?
