The MVP in My Life: Watching My Dad Play Basketball
Hi, Hive! I hope everyone's doing well.
This blog is all about ✨ The MVP in My Life: Watching My Dad Play Basketball ✨
A little background about my father's passion for basketball
My father told be that he’s been playing basketball since he was young. He always plays basketball with his friends whether it's just for fun or a competition. My auntie said that when my father was young he would always score consecutive 3 points. He used to be the shooting guard of his team. And until now he still plays basketball with his friends and they call their team The Power 40's because all of them are in their 40’s already. Imagine they've been playing since they were young and now that they're in their 40’s already they still play basketball. I really love how passionate my father and his friends about basketball.
For me, personally, I am not into sports. I did not inherited my father's passion for sports. I know that sports can be learned, but, every time I play any kind of sports my stomach would hurt so bad. My younger brother plays well in any sports though. He got it from our dad. Soon, I would also be screaming supporting him playing any sports that he will participate in.
Hours Before Watching My Dad Play Basketball
Before watching my dad play basketball, I went to my school first to get my card. When I saw my card, the first grade that caught my eye, was my grade in Basic Calculus. As someone who loves math, I'm so proud of myself because I got a 98 grade in the 4th quarter of Basic Calculus.
When I saw my overall average, I was shocked and sad at the same time. I was shocked that I maintained my general average of 97 since Grade 10. But at the same time, I felt a little sad because I was just one point away from getting With Highest Honors. But there's nothing I can do now since the grades are final. And I promise myself that I will do better next time.
After getting my card, my brother and I bought Ice Cream. We gathered our money together so we could buy the ₱159 cookies and cream ice cream. Yummy!!
SAN REMIGIO SPORTS COMPLEX
The place where my father and his teammates played basketball.
Before going inside, we went to a minimart to buy an energy drink for my father.
This is what's inside the sport complex. I was shocked when my father's team and the opposing team moved the basketball ring.
By the way, the sports complex is the same place where we had our recognition. That's why they had the move back to the basketball ring.
Fit Check!
With the cute flower accessory.
These are the pictures that I took while waiting for the game to start.
With my brother and my cousin.
This is a photo that I took of my father's team during their warm-up.
Their uniform looks so cool. I like the colors.
THE GAME
This game is their first game in the Semi Final Round. They are against our neighboring baranggay which is Brgy. Maño. So its Looc VS. Maño.
During the first to second quarter of the game my father's team was always down by 10 points. I was so stressed and kept shouting every time my father's team would score a point. My mother kept on telling me to take a video of my father everytime he scored a point. There was one time where I failed to take a video when my father scored 3 points because I was really enjoying the game.
During the third quarter of the game, my father's team started to scored a lot and they're only down by 5 points. From being down by 10 points, they're finally down by 5 points. They didn't give up and really played their best just to win this game.
During the fourth quarter of the game, my father's team is still down by 2 points. Two minutes left and they're still down by 2 points. Luckily, my father's teammates scored a consecutive 2 points that lead them to win the game.
I was really praying for them to win the game. I was so stressed but even though It was stressful, I still enjoyed watching the game.
JERSEY NUMBER ELEVEN
My father's jersey number is jersey number 11. As his daughter, I am so proud of him and his team!
They lost their second and third game against Maño. But, I am still proud of my father and his team. I didn't get to watch their second and third game because I was too busy.
Overall, they ranked 3rd place. I am so happy that their hard work payed off. They really deserve it. They planned to spend the money that they won by doing a team building near the beautiful beaches of our beloved hometown.
That's all for this blog. See you next blog!!
