We won!🇳🇬
Hello sports lovers
With the excitement from the Super Falcons game yesterday, I would have made the report much earlier, but man has been busy with real life.
There were two matches yesterday, but one stole the show and became the talk of the internet even before the actual time for the match.
Botswana vs Nigeria If you check my last post, I boldly stated that Nigeria would have an easy win against Botswana, but it didn't turn out as expected.
The Botswana ladies went into the match with a proper game plan—to just defend and make sure the match ended in a goalless draw, which nearly came to pass until Nigeria broke the deadlock in the final minutes of the match through Iheozu’s goal.
It was a very entertaining match. Nigeria, with their star-studded team, were tamed and appeared weak. I was so pained yesterday because we tried and tried, but the efforts were not yielding any result. We were so fortunate to have won the game. The internet would have erupted in negative talks yesterday. Lol.
With the win, it means Nigeria has qualified automatically for the next stage, which is the quarter-finals.
Tunisia vs Algeria This match ended in a goalless draw, and it gave hope to the Tunisian ladies to push further because a win in their next match gives them a chance of qualifying from the group, although the result will have to depend on the outcome of other matches.
This was exactly how yesterday played out.
Thanks for reading.
