D.L.L.Y (Dance Like Lamine Yamal)
Last week Thursday, I wrote about a trend by Skales, the Shake Body crooner, back in the year 2015. His hit track got resurrected when the Barcelona football star, Lamine Yamal, used his old song to make a TikTok video, and before we knew it, the song—and the song’s owner, Skales—became a trend on social media. He travelled down to Barcelona to meet Lamine Yamal, and he even got to perform the Shake Body song for the Barcelona football crew after they won their match.
A lot of videos trended, and they were all beautiful because they were full of love and fun.
Now, there's a trendy track again as a result of his tour in Europe, and it's a song he made for Lamine Yamal.
The thing is, while a lot of people have been talking trash about the song—especially saying that he only sang it because of money for a ‘young boy’—the song is actually entertaining and captivating because it brought back the vibes we used to know the guy for in his prime.
He titled the song D.L.L.Y, which means “Dance Like Lamine Yamal”, and he featured a Spanish musician, 3daan.
The song has a good beat, a danceable one, and also features well-rhymed and aligned lyrics. He pulled off a good twist in his verse. The 3daan guy, though he sang in his Spanish language, made his verse very fun too—even though I didn't understand a jot of what he said.
Above all, the lyrics are the biggest vibe—it’s so fun and entertaining.
I'm using that song as my number one entry in today’s #ttt.
Federal Government by Chief Priest ft. Kcee
One of the trending persons right now in Nigeria who's making songs for fun and clout is Chief Priest. This person is actually rich and highly influential. He recently decided to stretch his wings into music due to trolls by some of his pallies in the industry and also as a means to speak his mind.
"Federal Government" is a newly released song which he did just to laugh at the federal government of Nigeria for how biased they’ve been in tackling the law against naira abuse, which is the Nigerian currency.
He was once arrested for abusing the naira, and when he came out of police custody, he had a lot to say.
Recently, his friend—also a very wealthy and renowned man in Nigeria—was arrested. That person is the brother of Kcee, whom he featured in this song. So you see, the two of them have a lot to say in this track.
To end this, let’s enjoy this once-a-hit track by the Mavin Crew, Overdosing.
This song, when it came out, due to its simple and ear-tingling lyrics, was in the mouth of everyone. What a hit track it was four years ago. From the current squad of the Mavin Crew, this has been one of their best combined tracks.
