Share Your Battle, Weekly Challenge, Targeting that PIZZA!

This is another fun one this week, looking at hitting the bullseye of a Pizza!

The Death splinter is a great counter splinter, granted mine is still in the bronze level, but that is okay, it worked out well in my favor, and the Death Splinter also has some great lore behind it!

The Stalker is a decent card, high mana at 7, but the 3 ranged damage is good, 3 speed and 5 health put it up there well, however, the ability of True Strike, means they will always hit their target, that makes the mana worth it and a great card!

Before we get to the battle, let’s look at the history and the lore that has been written about the Dhampir Stalker (by Splinterlands.com):
Half-vampire, the Dhampir are faster and stronger than normal humans. Most have taken to a mercenary lifestyle, never quite welcome with vampires or humans. The Stalker is adept at tracking their prey, then dispatching the target with a silent and perfectly-placed arrow from the shadows.

From his perch atop the dock master's building, Vilak observed the commotion below. There on the docks, crooked and bleeding among the fishing boats and merchant ships, was the corpse of a male. Tanned skin. Brown beard. Dirty clothes. Lifeless eyes staring up at the night sky.

Surrounding the victim were four of the city guards, each stumbling about, peering behind crates and waving their arms. Clueless idiots, all of them.

Vilak did not move, but simply breathed deeply. The scent of salt, kelp, wood, ale, piss, and...ah. There it was. Blood.

Although only half vampire, his ability to track even the faintest hint of blood was as dependable as that of a full Nocturni. His crimson eyes slowly moved their gaze to the southern district where the blood scent led.

His target had taken a black-fletched arrow to the gut. Vilak had taken care to avoid major arteries. It was critical that the target survived long enough to answer a few questions. Unfortunately for the lone dock worker who rushed to help, the target was not eager to be the subject of scrutiny. The flash of steel and a quick slash across the neck sent the dock worker sprawling backwards, clutching his throat.

The target had then stumbled away from the docks and into the city.

Vilak shouldered his bow. Pulling his hood low, he smiled grimly and slid down the side of the roof.

It was time to hunt.

The battle that we are examining for this one is a medium battle, with 34 mana cap along with:

Silenced Summoners: Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities

Limited Splinters: Not so much a rule on this one, but only Fire and Death Splinters were allowed

The ruleset takes out some of the counters of the Death Splinter, but with only 1 of 2 splinters, it works!
**
This battle is coming through under the Modern Ranked battles, some eSports love with this one.

Here is the quick link to the battle: (Link) However, I will break it down, then you might want to watch again.

First up, the Summoner:

This is where the countering begins with the Death splinter in the Chaos Legion set, Thaddius Brood, take away magic and decrease the health, it usually a great thing, but not allowed on this one.

The front line is another one of my favorite cards for Death, and a very strong card for a rare card:

A great tank with the 9 health and 3 shields, but the big one is the shield ability, which knocks down melee and ranged, keeps him in the fight longer, which really helps in this battle!

The next up is a card I use a lot for an off-tank to keep my other cards around longer:

The flight helps this card dodge incoming attacks, but the other ability I like even more is the Scavenger, so when a monster dies, the Riftwing gains 1 max health, this allows it to stick around for a longer time.

The Next card is another great death card

The ability on this one with the sneak attack, really helps in all the fights, but it causes the win in this one, plus, the 3 damage and 4 speed, just takes the cake.

Next up comes the card of the hour:

A decent position due to the low health on this one, it can get some hits in because it is protected from the front, but then not all the way in the back to protect against sneak attack damage.

Normally, a great tank with the 10 health, decent speed and decent damage, but the ability, Thorns, which is another counter ability that just hits right, every time a melee attack hits, they will take 2 damage. However, I was using it as a tank in the back, because I know both Fire and Death use a lot of sneak, so putting it there should kill off some of the sneak attackers.

This one is just to keep things a live a little longer, and when it dies it feeds the Riftwing.

Did my strategy work, yes it did! The Corpse fiend died quickly to the Serpentine Spy, which is fine, it means that 3 damage wasn’t hitting one of my damage dealers, then Uraeus hit my Windeku to take away it’s shield, meanwhile the Silent Sha-Vi was hitting the back row for some good damage. The Stalker was just plinking away at the frontline, and it just wore them down, when Harklaw died, the Riftwing stepped up and had plenty of health to stay alive.

The Dhampir Stalker has some great low, and for those fights that are a little higher in mana it is a great way to get some good damage into the enemy line, I would recommend picking up a few of them. I was lucky to pull a gold from a Chaos Legion pack that are still available, will you try your luck there?

Overall, this was a really good battle for me, and when you are watching a battle, you always need some Pizza! If you are looking for a great area of Positivity along with a great community, com join the Pizza Family!
