Chelsea were in the thick of another English Premier League match early on Saturday morning.

Tuchel's team was coming from a couple of defeats in a row, the most recent one in the Champions League at the hands of Juventus and the other one at the hands of Guardiola's City.

Tuchel's team looked a bit nervous to tell the truth, they knew they could not drop any more points on the road if they wanted to keep pace with Guardiola's team for the league title. Victory was more than necessary today.

Everything looked like it was going to go right when in the first half, young defender and Blue youth product, Chalobah would give Chelsea the lead with a double header in the box and the kid sank the ball into the back of the net.

From then on it looked like Chelsea could handle the game as they pleased, but this is the English Premier League and anything can happen.

Soton would score the equalizer from the penalty spot, by their captain who would be the hero and villain of the match for his team, when for a silly and naive foul the referee would show him the red card.

Refereeing.

Let's talk a little bit about the refereeing, because the truth is that it was terrible.
Very poor refereeing by Martin Atkinson, who was biased in favor of Soton.

Soton committed an innumerable amount of fouls that the referee allowed to continue, perhaps due to the repetition of fouls one more player should have left the game earlier.

Changes.

After the sending off of the Soton captain Chelsea went all out in search of an equalizer. The bad luck and the good performance of the goalkeeper denied Chelsea the lead on three occasions.

Tuchel would send his best players looking for the win. He sent on Mason Mount, Jorginho and Barkley, to change the course of the match.

The changes would work out for the German as Jorginho would get a red card.
Mount would give an incredible boost to the Blues' attack; and Ross would provide a great pass before the equalizer.

A special mention to Timo Werner who is not at his best at the club. Goals are not usually given to the German, however, Timo sweats the shirt in every game, because he fights and sacrifices every ball he plays for.

Today Timo gives the team the lead and scores a well-deserved goal. Werner may not have luck on his side but he is a warrior, like those in the Vikings series, who deserves all the respect in the world.

Lukaku

On the other hand, I am starting to worry a bit about the Belgian Romelu Lukaku who has not scored goals for a couple of games now and it is possible that he is starting a little streak of bad luck that strikers fall into when they can't score goals.

Great win by Chelsea who are at the top of the Premier League table, I hope they can keep up the pace and win the league this year.
