Konnor McClain, Shilese Jones and Jordan Chiles are the names that have made history in an unprecedented event, which leaves me with a question of how is this possible? More on that later.

The three gymnasts have become the first three black women to hold all three places in gymnastics competition in the Senior categories in the USA.

What seems to me a crazy fact at this point, because I find it unusual to think why had not occupied the first three places in a competition girls of color.

As we all know gymnastics has the most decorated black woman in history as Simone Biles, likewise there are many black girls who are extremely good in American gymnastics, to think that black girls have been scored or qualified differently because of their skin color would be something rash on my part but being that country those thoughts come to my mind.

Well, life is smiling again on McClain, who missed several competitions due to a series of unfortunate events that kept her away from competitions, due to lack of concentration, because as we have seen gymnastics is a very dangerous sport that requires athletes to be 100% focused.

This girl is called to be one of those who will lead the North American team and she will have to prove it soon, because in October she will have the world championship in Liverpool, it is expected that this girl will lead the team, because she has more than enough talent to do it.

It is true that there is no official list and that anything can happen, but the North American team will not have the defending champion Sunisa Lee nor the GOAT Simone Biles, so the responsibility could fall on the shoulders of this girl.

Well back to what these girls have achieved is as important for them as it is for gymnastics because as I said it is an unprecedented event that marks history. Gymnastics is a sport dominated by white people, according to NCAA data only 9% of women at the collegiate level in gymnastics are black. Of course, the diversity and what black girls can add to the American team is a plus because diversity in the sport makes athletes strive for more.

The little participation of black women in American gymnastics is that the U.S. Olympic team had not allowed the participation of black women until 1992, when Dominique Dawes and Betty Okino, made their way into the team.

Since then, there has been progress in the participation of black girls in gymnastics, as more and more of them are making their way onto the national and Olympic teams. This historical fact will undoubtedly attract more participation of girls who see and follow the example; who feel represented and are encouraged to participate.

Sometimes these facts simply thrill me, I don't know why but what joy and satisfaction they give me.*

Lo que me parece un hecho de locos ha estás alturas, pues me parece insólito el hecho se pensar porque no habían ocupado los primeros tres lugares de una competencia chicas de color.

Cómo todos sabemos la gimnasia tiene a la mujer negra más condecorada de la historia como lo es Simone Biles, así mismo hay muchas chicas negras que son extremadamente buenas en la gimnasia norteamericana, pensar que se ha puntuado o calificado diferente a las chicas negras por su color de piel sería algo precipitado de mí parte pero siendo ese país pues esos pensamientos vienen a mí mente.

Bueno la vida le sonríe otra vez a McClain, quien se perdió varias competencias por una serie de eventos desafortunados que la alejaron de las competencias, por falta de concentración, pues como hemos visto la gimnasia es un deporte muy peligro que requiere que los atletas estén concentrados al 100%.

Esta chica está llamada a ser una de las que lleven la batuta al equipo norteamericano y tendrá que demostrarlo pronto pues, en el mes de octubre tendrá el campeonato mundial en Liverpool, se espera que esta chica comande el equipo, pues tiene talento de sobra para hacerlo.

Es cierto pues que falta una lista oficial y que cualquier cosa puede pasar pero, el equipo norteamericano no contara con la Campeona defensora Sunisa Lee ni tampoco la GOAT Simone Biles, por lo que la responsabilidad podría caer sobre los hombros de esta chica.

Bueno volviendo un poco a lo que estas chicas han conseguido es tan importante para ellas como para la gimnasia pues como dije es un hecho sin precedentes que marca la historia. La gimnasia es un deporte dominado por las personas blancas, de acuerdo a datos de la NCAA solo un 9% de las mujeres a nivel universitario en gimnasia son negras. Claro que la diversidad y lo que pueden agregar chicas negras al equipo norteamericano es un plus pues la diversidad en el deporte crea que los atletas se esfuercen más allá.

La poca participación de mujeres negras en la gimnasia norteamericana es que el equipo olímpico de ese país no había permitido la participación de mujeres negras hasta el año 1992, cuando Dominique Dawes y Betty Okino, abrieron paso en el equipo.

A partir de ese hecho ha habido un progreso de participación de chicas negras en la gimnasia, pues cada vez más se van haciendo espacios en los equipos nacionales y olímpicos. Este hecho histórico sin dudas atraerá más participación de chicas que vean y sigan el ejemplo; que se sientan representadas y se animan a participar.

A veces estos hechos al simplemente me emocionan, no sé porque pero que alegría y satisfacción me dan.
