School and Public Playgrounds/Hřiště školní a veřejná

There are many schools and kindergartens in my housing estate. As I walk by, I see an abandoned school playground. It's holiday. Children will not get here until September. About three months a year, school playgrounds are unused. As well as gyms and all school equipment at all. It is a pity. Even in the school year the school sports facilities are not used 100%. Especially not on weekends.

But it is different. At the school my son attends, the school becomes a public playground with the end of school. There is a refreshment stand on the playground. In the time of school lessons, the schoolmaster is responsible for the playground, after the time of school lessons, caretaker of refreshment stand is responsible for the playground.

The playground is very extensive. There is a sports ground for ball games, a running oval, a traffic playground, a corner for the youngest children and a place for petanque.

I assume that the financing of the playground was difficult. The borough had to finance it. One of the conditions was probably making the playground accessible to the public. It is a pity that it failed in more schools.

The playground is not only for sport. Children meet here. It is good that they meet on the pitch than somewhere else. Parents and grandparents come here with younger children. They, too, sometimes do sports, or at least meet and chat.

The playground is also a place of regular extracurricular events of all kinds. Not only sports but also social. The playground has an important function in the life of our housing estate.

Tam kde bydlím, na sídlišti, je mnoho škol a školek. Kdyř kolem nich jdu, vidím opuštěná školné hřiště. Jsou prázdniny. Děti se sem dostanou až v září. Asi tři měsíce v roce jsou školní hřiště nevyužitá. Stejně tak tělocvičny a vůbec veškeré školní vybavení. To je škoda. Ani ve školním roce nejsou školní sportoviště využitá na 100%. Zejména ne o weekendech.

Ale jde to i jinak. U školy, kterou navštěvuje můj syn, se s koncem vyučování za školního hřiště stává hřiště veřejné. Na hřišti je stánek s občerstvením. V době školního vyučování odpovídá za hřiště školník, v době po vyučování provozovatel stánku.

Hřiště je velmi rozsáhlé. Je tu sportoviště pro míčové hry, běžecký ovál, dopravní hřiště, koutek pro nejmenší děti i místo pro petanque.

Předpokládám, že financování hřiště bylo náročné. Financovat ho musela městská část. Jenou z podmínek asi bylo zpřístupnění hřiště pro veřejnost. Škoda, že se to nepadařilo ve více školách.

Hřiště neslouží jen ke sportu. Děti se tu scházejí. Je dobře, že se scházejí na hřišti než někde jinde. S mladšími dětmi sem chodí i rodiče a prarodiče. I oni se občas zasportují, nebo se aspoň potkají a popovídají si.

Hřiště je také místem pravidelných mimoškolních akcí všeho druhu. Nejen sportovních, ale i společenských. Má důležitou funkci v životě našeho sídliště.
