Ha comenzado la batalla deportiva del primer Grand Slam del año, en la que cada jugador tiene el objetivo de ganar sus partidos y alcanzar un nuevo puesto en el ranking, una victoria que avale sus estadísticas personales y lo más importante, marcar una huella en los registros del deporte blanco. Fue lamentable ver salir a Christian Garín (Chile) y Thiago Monteiro (Brasil) en primera ronda, pero luego de la inactividad de ambos fue un milagro su participación. Respecto a lo que me sorprendió, se trata de la eliminación del surcoreano Soon-Woo Kwon en 5 sets ante el norteamericano invitado Christopher Eubanks. Kwon acaba de ganar el sábado su primer título en Adelaida II, donde enfrentó al español Roberto Bautista y de mi parte, esperaba que avanzara y nos deleitara con su excelente tenis; sin embargo cayó en un resultado cerrado.
