My Actifit Report Card: February 15 2022

Got out for a nice long walk this morning, and I feel so much better today. I think I might finally be on the mend.

Sure, I didn’t get a lot of writing done (though, again, with more than 2000 words that’s kind of a relative statement), and I ate stuff I shouldn’t have, but feeling better is just good as a way to help move things in the right direction.

I think with a few more days of improvement things should be all good, and if they don’t improve I’m just going to go to my doctor and see if there’s anything he can suggest for how to get stuff sorted out.

I don’t think there’s anything to worry about, of course, or I’d be going in immediately, but I still have a couple lingering complaints and I don’t want to have to just grin and bear them forever.

Kenoma work has been slowing down because I’m just getting into content stuff that involves more balance/non-duplication than other stuff from games, but Cybrine Dreams is still finishing up its setting section and getting its final rules in place before I get into making content for it.

This is important: you make a little content, enough to playtest, and then you start playtesting. You get a feel for how it works, then you build your content out around the playtest results. I don’t care how good you are at simulation and math, not that simulation and math are unimportant, until you get a feel for how the play actually unfolds.

Once you’ve run through the game a couple times, once you have an idea of how that stuff works, then you start iterating on it and making it into what you want it to be by adding content that fills out the system and gives players enough options to customize their experiences.
