My Actifit Report Card: August 15 2022

Had a job interview this morning. It sounds like it will definitely interfere with my game schedules if I get it, though since it’s part-time it would be an intermittent and not a constant disruption. Fortunately, it also sounds like I’m likely to get the job, at least so far. I should know for sure by Wednesday.

Also looked into RMA for my laptop. It was sort of painful, though I think when I pointed out this was my second major out-of-commision issue for this laptop they changed their tune and I have more confidence in the current setup. I’m not sure when I’ll be sending it off, but probably not too long from now, which means that I’ll be on a different machine than my working rig for a while.

That might mean less output in certain ways, though I’ll try to keep up on these posts and my writing more generally. Depending on when I get the opportunity to send it off, I might send the laptop off as soon as Wednesday, and I’m not sure what their expected turn-around time is.

That means that I won’t have access to my layout and graphic design stuff I normally use, though I should be able to have some access to Word, so it won’t get in the way of my daily games (and I’m planning to transition away from that in the near-future).

The game today is Paths to Ephlia, a sister to Quarrels of Valdrogia (link in the store description). It brings dark gothic fantasy spellcasting rules to the mix, allowing you to play one of a few spellcasting archetypes. There’s rules compatibility, though balance is questionable.

With that said, it’s past my bedtime. God is good, life is good.
