My Actifit Report Card: August 28 2022

Rough headache this morning. I suspect I let myself get dehydrated yesterday, or maybe I’ve had a very mild migraine since there were a few instances of quite sharp pain and a bit of light sensitivity alongside it. Fortunately, it didn’t do much worse than impair my writing, but I’ve still eked out an okay writing day.

One thing that I’m working on is a Midjourney guide for my Ludus Ex Machina game jam, which starts on Thursday. I’m hoping to have it be a very basic tutorial that gives game designers an idea of what they need to do to get good output from Midjourney and put it in their games.

Physically, I didn’t think I was getting that much in the way of activity but I apparently got a lot of steps in. I helped a neighbor move furniture, but I didn’t think it was very much at the time.

Had a pollster come by asking if I was planning to vote. I told her I wasn’t because I could see that she represented the campaign of the candidate I intend to oppose.. I do, but that’s neither here nor there.

Pro-tip: If your campaign pitch is that the gas prices are only $4, you shouldn’t have high hopes. Oh yes, the miracle of $4 gas. “There’s a war going on,” came the meek response.

Not my damn war.

Then the follow up was student loan forgiveness. To paraphrase something I heard once, “I ain’t got no strings on me.”

Well, other than the new tax burden taken by a bunch of people who took loans getting their payments owed to the government transferred to the general taxpayer. That’s really nice and fun.

I hope I’m not the only person to see through the myth of economic help that these morons try to sell. If the government’s doing something to the economy, it’s not going to help people like me, because I’m not needy (or shameless) enough to get support from the government but I’m not well enough off to actually matter to their campaigns.

Plus, it’s a waste of time on a perfectly good Sunday. At least they had to be out in the heat, which is not yet headed back down in any appreciable way during the day (mornings are a little better, though).

On second thought, this is probably a migraine because on an ordinary day I wouldn’t take this much schadenfreude out of political campaigners suffering in the heat.

Feeling good overall. I’m hoping to get up bright and early tomorrow morning to go out for a walk.
