Visiting Churches

A very strong tradition for me is the visit to the seven temples during Holy Week. Encouraged by faith, I wanted to undertake this walk with respect and love. To do this, I make a mental schedule to know how to move. First, I will visit the Church of Perpetual Help. I take the subway and get off at the Caño Amarillo subway station to walk to the sanctuary. From this point the route to get to the other churches is walking.

Visitando Las Iglesias

Una tradición muy marcada para mí, es la visita de los siete templos en tiempos de la Semana Santa. Animada por la fe, quise emprender esta caminata con respeto y mucho amor. Para ello, hago un cronograma mentalmente para saber trasladarme. En primer lugar, visitaré la Iglesia del Perpetuo Socorro. Me dirijo por el metro y me bajo en la estación del metro Caño Amarillo para caminar hasta el santuario. Desde este punto el trayecto para llegar a las demás iglesias es caminando.

And with the mental direction of each religious center we walk to each of them, we crossed the center of Caracas, to visit second, the Church of San Francisco, then the other destination is to walk through the Bolivar square, and pass by the Cathedral Church, which I could not enter, due to the number of people queuing. I headed down Urdaneta Avenue to get to the Santa Capilla Church.

Y con la dirección mentalizada de cada centro religioso vamos caminando hacia cada una de ellas, atravesamos el centro de Caracas, para visitar segunda, la Iglesia de San Francisco, luego el otro destino es caminar por la plaza Bolívar, y pasar por la Iglesia la Catedral, que no pude entrar, debido a la cantidad de gente haciendo cola. Me dirigí por la avenida Urdaneta para llegar a la Iglesia Santa Capilla.

Then we crossed the same Urdaneta Avenue and passed by the Central Bank of Venezuela until we reached the Church of Our Lady of Altagracia. From there we go up and a few blocks away we find Las Mercedes Church.

Luego atravesamos la misma avenida Urdaneta y pasamos por el lado del Banco Central de Venezuela hasta llegar a la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Altagracia. Desde ahí subimos y nos encontramos a unas cuadras la Iglesia Las Mercedes.

From there, we continue walking along Urdaneta Avenue until we reach Universidad Avenue, at the corner of San Francisco and La Bolsa Streets, where the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is located. And the last visit is to the Parish of La Candelaria to reach the church of Our Lady of Candelaria, culminating in the Plaza La Candelaria, between Urdaneta Avenue and the corner of Urapal.

Desde ahí, seguimos avanzando y caminamos toda la avenida Urdaneta hasta llegar a la avenida Universidad, en la esquina de las calles San Francisco y La Bolsa, donde se encuentra La Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. Y la última visita es a la Parroquia La Candelaria para llegar a la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, culminando en la Plaza La Candelaria, entre la Av. Urdaneta y la esquina Urapal.
