A Day of Setbacks

Today I have an activity scheduled in the morning. At around 10 o'clock we had a workshop for the senior community. We arrived early and waited for people to arrive. As the morning grew colder, fog rolled in and out. First, a woman arrived and warmly welcomed us. While we were talking, it started to rain, and the girl told us that no one else might come because when the weather is bad, the elderly don't leave their homes due to the cold.

Un Día De Contratiempos

Hoy tengo una actividad programada en la mañana. A eso de las 10 teníamos un taller, para la comunidad adulta mayor. Llegamos temprano y esperamos a que fueran llegando las personas, mientras que la mañana se estaba poniendo muy fría, iba y venía la neblina. Primero llegó una señora, que cordialmente nos dio la bienvenida. Mientras que conversamos, comenzó a llover y la chica nos dijo que, posiblemente, no viniera nadie porque cuando hay mal tiempo los abuelos no salen de sus casas por el frío.

That's how we spent the day. To make the most of our time, the girl wanted to learn about the workshop, so we gave her a brief explanation of how beneficial it is for mental health, concentration, and stress relief, as well as how it connects us with our emotions. We started by making a circle, and then we drew several circles from the center, which we divided with lines to make equal or symmetrical partitions, and then we colored them in. With the explanations she was given, she began to put that knowledge into practice.

Así nos pasó el día, para no perder el tiempo la chica quiso tener conocimiento del taller, y le dimos una breve explicación y lo beneficioso que es para la salud mental, para la concentración y liberar stress, además que nos conecta con nuestras emociones, se inicia haciendo un círculo, y luego partimos desde el centro haciendo varios círculos que luego dividimos con líneas hasta hacer particiones iguales o simétricas y luego coloreamos. Con las explicaciones que se le dio, comenzó a poner en práctica esos conocimientos.

Taking advantage of the fact that we had to wait for the rain to stop before leaving. I couldn't take many photos because we were in a place where there was a strong wind and we were getting wet anyway. We couldn't stay there for long, so when the rain eased off a little, we had to leave. We were a long way from home and it was risky to wait for the rain to stop because night could fall before we got there.

Aprovechando que teníamos que esperar que escampara para retirarnos. Muy pocas fotos podía tomar porque estábamos en un sitio, donde había mucho ventarrón y nos mojábamos igual. No podíamos quedarnos mucho tiempo ahí, así, que cuando medio escampo; tuvimos que salir, estábamos muy retiradas de la casa y era un riesgo quedarnos a escampar porque nos podía agarrar la noche.

We got wet as we walked, until we reached a farmhouse where we stopped to buy some vegetables. Fortunately, the rain was letting up, but we still had a way to go before we got home.

Nos fuimos mojando, hasta llegar a un caserío donde paramos para comprar algo de hortalizas. Por fortuna, ya la lluvia estaba cesando y, aún, nos faltaba para llegar a casa.
