Postcards from Thailand #10: My Acti-Shopee-Shite Report Card: April 21 2023

Along with Lazada, Shopee is the South-East Asian shopping sensation, and my better half can't get enough.

It's not like she spends a lot, she's more into quantity than quality especially as half the stuff is shipped from China, duty free as there is some special reciprocal customs arrangement with the Chinese.

Today, it was aircon condenser covers. We have five split unit aircons and at some point during her frantic flicking through Shopee's endless pages of curiosities and delights, she came across the covers you see in the picture.

What use are they? You may well ask because I'll be damned if I know but, according to the wife they help to keep your condensers cooler and cleaner, thus making them more efficient and requiring less maintenance.

As we're facing a 150 quid electric bill this hottest month of the year, perhaps her £3.50 (including shipping!) investment and my 15 minutes outside in 37C heat will be worth it, or perhaps it won't, but either way, she's happy, and you can't put a price on that!
