So that's the end of the second-highest ever January transfer window for another year with a total spend of £295million.

Over half that was spent by the bottom 5 clubs, Newcastle of course deciding to let rip with a bid for Premier League survival by blowing some of their Saudi cash but in the midst of all the craziness, it was the signing of Christian Erikson by Brentford that caught my eye.

I hope it works out for the pair of them and it will be wonderful to see the no doubt, amazing reception when he first steps out onto a football field competitively again after his horrible collapse at the Euros. My betting is that there won't be a dry eye in the house.

Anyway, I need my revenge after at least one of you guys whacked me again at the weekend and as we're still into a breal due to World Cup qualifiers, Africa Cup of Nations and whatever else, we're back to the Championship with this game...

Swansea sit in no-mans-land in 18th place in the table but a steady 12 points clear of the relegation places. Whilst obviousy not going to be challenging for promotion, they will need to keep grinding out results to stay clear of the fight for the drop.

The Swans have signed 18-year-old central defender Finaly Burns on loan from Manchester City as well as 20-year-old Nathanael Ogbeta from Shrewsbury, who is also a product of the City academy. Perhaps looking to the future, their 'outs' include Liam Walsh but resisted some heavy bidding from QPR for in-dispute Jamie Paterson who is still not training.

Odd not to see them attempting to bolster their goal-shy attack but their already pretty solid defence ought totighten up even further.

Luton Town sit in 10th but just 6 points and a game in hand off the promotion places and will want to kick on if they hope to make a serious assault on the play-off places.

A quiet transfer window saw an exchange of goalkeepers as Croatian International keep, Simon Sluga left for Bulgaria and Villa's Jed Steer arrived on loan until the end of the season.

A big loss and strange decision in my eyes was the exit of Glen Rea who has been with Luton for 206 games and back to back promotions. Very odd at this point in the season with Luton pushing hard so it will be interesting to see who replaces him tonight as he takes a step down the divisions.

Luton, who have lost just once in the last 6 games have been scoring well and defending hard and if they keep working together, will almost definitely come out of tonight's game with something.

The Small Print

In the first goalscorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will roll over if there is no winner. If more than one person chooses the same first goal scorer or correct score, the prize is shared, and everyone gets a little upvote! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 50 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. The bonus will be added to any winnings ONLY if Leeds United win and/or Man U lose and all pay-outs will never exceed 50% of post-pay-out. Other bonuses are paid out at my discretion.

Last time out we featured Cardiff and Forest which finished 2-1 in favour of the Bluebirds with Hugil getting the first goal and looking down the entries, we see @yeckingo1 was the only winner of the correct score and takes home the full 10K pot!
No one got the first goalscorer surprisingly and so the pot rolls over to today!
