Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge with Keep Your Distance

Splinterlands on of the best card battle game on hive blockchain. This week BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge is Keep Your Distance. This challenge is difficult as no malee attack monster but still requires some basic understanding of cards used in battle. In this ruleset Units with melee attacks may not be used. Use Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect to counter magic attacks. Use Headwinds and Return Fire to counter ranged attacks. Units with 2 types of attack (which include melee) cannot be used. As in this battle Monsters with Ranged attack are very helpful so I decided to use some ranged attack monsters with high health. In this battle used "Riftwing" as tank card having 6 health with scavenger / backfire ability. In this battle I used one snipe ability card. This battle was low mana 35 so I decided to use some strong back line cards. This battle was death vs earth summoners.

1. Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.

2. Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.

3. Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.

As battle was low mana so I decided to use some extra abilities cards and also fill all spots. I decided to use some strong back line cards having snipe ability. I used "Riftwing" as tank with no attack, 6 health and scavenger / backfire ability. On 2nd position I used "Ravenhood Warden" 1 ranged attack and 3 health with protect ability. On 3rd position I used "Dark Astronomer" 2 ranged attack and 4 health. On 4th position I used "Supply Runner" 2 ranged attack and 5 health. On 2nd last position I used Grim Reaper 4 ranged attack and 4 health with affliction ability. On last position I used Mantoid 3 ranged attack and 5 health with snipe ability. I am very happy with my team and if my tank card survives then my other cards will destroy the enemy team monsters. Let’s discuss my team one by one.

Riftwing

I used Riftwing Common death Unit as a tank card. This card has no attack, 6 health and 4 speed with flying / scavenger and backfire ability. I used this card on tank position in low mana fights as this card is very helpful with scavenger and backfire ability. This card is the best choice for tank card in low mana battles.

Ravenhood Warden

On 2nd position I used Ravenhood Warden Rare death Unit with protect ability. So, this card gives two extra armors to all friendly monster cards. If my tank card is eliminated, then this card becomes a second tank card.

Dark Astronomer

On 3rd position I used Dark Astronomer Rare death Unit. This card has two ranged attacks and four health with one speed. I always used this card as my back line card, as it has two ranged attacks.

Supply Runner

On 4th position, I used Supply Runner Common neutral Unit. This card has 2 ranged attack and 5 health. So hope this card perform well and do maximum damage to enemy back line monsters.

Grim Reaper

On 2nd last position I used Grim Reaper Rare death Unit. This card has 4 ranged attack and 4 health with affliction ability. I always used this card as my back line card as this card has massive 4 ranged attack.

Mantoid

On last position, I used Mantoid Common neutral Unit. This card has 3 ranged attack and 5 health but this card's snipe ability is very strong. So hope this card perform well and do maximum damage to back line monsters cards.

So my strategy in this battle was very simple as in this battle I mostly rely on my snipe card and on Grim Reaper monster card. I used "Riftwing" as tank card with scavenger and backfire ability. So, hope this card gains health on every monster elimination and also hope that my enemy miss attack and my tank card gives 2 attack in return. If my tank card survives some rounds then hope my other cards could eliminate enemy's back line monsters. My snipe ability card is very strong so it can do some damage to enemy back line monsters cards and my 4 ranged attack monster attack on my enemy tank card. I think in this battle my snipe card performed well and hoped "Riftwing" could gain health on every turn. Also hoped that my cards could not miss any attack and did proper damage to enemy back line monsters. Overall my entire back line cards did 12 ranged attack damage to enemy team. This battle lasted for 5 rounds.

My strategy paid off and my all cards performed well. Our today's battle challenge with "Keep Your Distance" successfully completed. In this battle my enemy team brought strong earth team of magic and ranged attack monsters. My enemy also brought a tank healer which perform well in this battle. The battle was very close and I won this battle in 5th round. I liked this new change of weekly battle challenge from monsters to ruleset, so we can learn some new methods how to tackle enemy in any specific ruleset. You can watch this battle on My Battle link.
