My Actifit Report Card: September 27 2021

avatar

It was rainy and windy again today. I went down to the local nine basket disc golf course for a couple of practice rounds. I had a couple of overstable driver discs and an understable putter disc.

I kind of wish I had taken an overstable putter or a midrange. That really helps when playing some shorter holes like the ones on this course.

My score was not very good because of the wind and the wet grass but it was fun to get outside. The rest of the week looks pretty rainy.

This weekend looks nice and my son an I signed up for the first week of the fall disc golf league tournament at the Kayak course. This is the course I was playing a lot earlier and won a bunch of script in the first disc golf league I played in.

I'm really looking forward to getting out there again and doing another tournament. It feels like I have a bit more experience with tournaments now and I know my bag better.

A golden snail that I saw in my yard this morning:

(Image was enhanced with GIMP.)

These snails are different than the ones I typically see around here. I enjoy looking at all the different varieties of shell colors.

They do look beautiful when they are out after the rain. I think the water on the shell reflects the light differently.

Beautiful snail, it's true that this is different from the usual ones I've seen, thank you for sharing

These are different from many of the snails around this area. I'm not sure why exactly.

In my area now, it often rains, so doing some work is not optimal, especially in terms of sports, it is not optimal because it has to be active in open spaces.

I always have a more difficult time playing disc golf in the rain. If you can keep your discs dry it really helps though.

A beautiful conch with a golden color. I've also just seen a snail like that, usually a bit blackish. But to be honest, I like the way you modify the image so I want to see it again and again ...

Thank you. I'm glad you like my image modifications. Sometimes people want to see a more realistic photograph so I'm careful to say that I have modified it.

It is more common for the snails to be brown or bit more blackish. There are some that have variations of different color bands.

I have not seen that particular color much before either. It is interesting how much variation in the color of the shells there is.

You have the coolest snails out there! The only thing I get is slugs! Why don't we have pretty shelled snails here?

I actually came in today out of the rain as I was out walking. I got soaking wet, and, even though it was warm, it felt a little yucky and stuck to me.

Great steps, better than I got!

There are some many different colored snail shells and lots of variety around here. It seems like they have been doing better than the slugs. I wonder if they can survive the dry times better in their shells or something. There are some giant slugs too.

I'm not sure why one would do better in certain areas than the other. It seems like if there are slugs around there would be snails too but I know in Colorado I would see tiny slugs and no snails.

The slugs are thriving here. Too bad. They are pretty gross. I would gladly cover it with a shell!
