My Actifit Report Card: January 24 2022
I did a short walk with Doggie today. He was rather well behaved. I think we are starting to understand each other a bit better.
It was a bit cold so I just stayed around the house and practiced my disc golf putting some more. I'm mixing things up a bit and trying to throw around obstacles in the yard to make things more challenging. It been fun and good practice to focus more on my short distance putting - it has been a difficult skill for me to learn.
There's a lot of videos about how to putt and many different professional players approach it slightly differently. I think it makes a good starting place to focus on but really it just takes a bunch of practice to really get better at it and learn what feels right for you. It is interesting to me how differently people putt in disc golf.
I often tend to miss low and hit the basket so I have to remind myself to get the nose angle of the disc up just a bit on the longer putts. This helps give the disc a bit more stability and reach the basket better. If you do it right the disc stalls better and drops closer to the basket if you miss.
A couple of rocks from my rock collection:
I was testing out all my currently inked fountain pens today to make sure they were working. I needed to refill a couple of them. I made the design around the rocks with all five pens.

When I'm just practicing short putts I'm outside in the front yard and there is no fence so usually Doggie is not around. Sometimes I do take him out to the disc golf course and he does like to go but it is harder for me to play well with him around.

Even if you draw simple diagrams like this to check the condition of your pens, I thought it was a fabric printed design.
Thanks! I was just playing around and having fun with the pens. I thought about doing a few effects with digital processing on the pen marks but I'm not sure if I will get around to doing that.

I like to put a little anhyzer on my longer putts that way the fade brings them back to center
Sometimes I try to putt that way but typically it doesn't work too well for me. In general I'm a hyzer putter up until the point where I just start to throw it. Longer distance putts (outside circle one) tend to come out more level though. If I'm trying to go around something or throwing longer approach throws I like the anhyzer a lot.
What a difference a year makes, yes? If you read how you were playing a year ago, it is like another person. You have come a long way, but, of course, it has been a lot of practice to get there.

I feel like I have been improving since last year. I'm also pushing myself harder and getting a bit of issues from overdoing it a bit. I tend to do that so I've been trying to force myself to go a bit slower in the off season while the weather is colder.
Oh I did have dinner as usual but nothing special.
Doggie got himself in a bit of trouble aggressively chasing cars again. I might of over-corrected him just a bit with the leash and he ended up in a pile of dirt in the gutter and needed a bath afterward. I was really concerned he was going to end up getting run over by a slow moving trailer that he got dangerously close to.
