My Actifit Report Card: April 20 2022
I played a nine hole disc golf round this morning and scored a plus six. I was struggling with my short putts and missed three of them that I would usually make. It was just breezy enough to give me some troubles.
This afternoon there was an emergency broadcast to evacuate that scared me a bit. The fire was far enough away that there was no need to evacuate but the notice went out to a bigger area than where it was required to go.
The wind was blowing hard at the time but it soon calmed down and they got the fire under control. I am glad that no people or structures were involved in the grass fire. There have been several fires lately and I am getting a bit nervous about things. There are so many people here that the roads can become very congested quickly and the wind can blow very hard.

I also started up the sprinkler system for the yard. The grass is so brown and dry it looks like a fire hazard. I hope that it will not freeze again this year, it has been so warm recently that it seems like it is safe.
If I lived around here I would be tempted to put in some native plants and skip using a sprinkler system. I never water my grass at home and it stays green nine months out of the year.

It is comforting news that no one was hurt in the fire. The flowers growing in the backyard look really awesome.

When I read your post of course it becomes news that I can Can be careful with what happens to your country Fortunately, there were no victims in the fire. Once you hear the fire evacuation evaluation the fire stops.When the fire broke out were you done playing golf

Nearly a thousand homes burned down in December here. I guess I got a bit jumpy when I heard the alert to evacuate on my phone. There have been a number of fires recently.

The higher mountains have been getting snow but so far things have been drying out down in the plains. Hopefully we will get a bit more moisture soon.

Why is there a big fire? Are there agricultural land fires.
Fire season has extended to be nearly year around in many areas of the country. The weather patterns have been changing and the types of vegetation growing in these areas are not equipped to deal with the hot dry weather. As for the cause, I believe the burning of fossil fuels has much to do with it.

Thank you. It did get me a bit more worried than perhaps it should have. I guess I have been watching too much news coverage about people who could not get out of areas caught up in fires. (I am thinking of California fires more than Colorado but the fire in December burned down almost a thousand buildings.)
as you said dry grass and hot weather will certainly be very dangerous in the event of a fire because the fire process will be very fast
The winds can be a very big issue too. Wind can blow embers inside a building through the vents and start a fire from the inside of the building.
