My Actifit Report Card: June 24 2022

avatar

I played a single round of eighteen-hole disc golf out at my favorite course today. I scored a +5 on the round. I nearly had my usual +3 score but my Shryke disc turned a bit too hard in the wind and traveled out towards the river. It has been flying a bit understable but under the right conditions, it goes a long way.

It was not just one throw that causes a problem but when you're playing out of position it does make it hard to recover.

There were so many mosquitoes on the course today that I decided not to play a second round. I can't help but wonder if spraying the blackberries drove off or killed some of the frogs and spiders that like to eat the mosquitoes. Maybe the city guys will head back out and spray some DDT next, lol.

A friend has invited me to play at a course about an hour's drive from me. I might do that tomorrow if I wake up in time. It is a fun course but you have to pay to play it and I don't like driving that far to play disc golf. Gas prices are getting expensive.

Doggie and his favorite fuzzy cushion:

He started pulling all the insides out of his cushion the other day and it had to be put aside and repaired.

Thanks, this was a single picture taken from a short video that the phone made in "single shot" mode. It does help to get some pictures of an active dog.

I guess chewing and ripping apart is how they show love to their favorite things. 😃

It's quite something when the price of gas has to be measured in with the cost of doing anything. I drive so little right now that I think nothing of it. Although I am not IN my little town, I am not far outside of it and everything I need is right there except my weekly trip to Mom's which is across the county, but still maybe only a 22 minute drive and half of that is long country roads. I don't even think about that part of my visits to her, with the exception of making sure there is enough gas in the car to get there and back.

If I was still making a 30-40 minute drive to work and then back, that would be another story for sure.

He does love chewing and ripping apart. I've been working on trying to get him to stop chewing on me with varying degrees of success, lol.

Usually the gas price alone doesn't stop me from doing anything but when you factor in the traffic and the heat it become less inviting to drive a couple hours round trip for a round or two of disc golf. I don't know the area very well so I would need to pack a lunch too. Lazy, I know. :)

I don't need to drive very much either. I still enjoy doing a lot of shopping by e-bike but I have stopped riding it longer distances in general around here.

It would definitely be harder to spend the money and fight the heat to go the distance if there is a closer place to play.

It was a tiring and entertaining game.

Does Doggie rip all of his beds or just that one? Usually our dogs have more than one bed. :)

I found that mine ripped his apart when ahe was a little bored or hadnt been as active. I suppose that dogs, like people, are different from each other.

Sounds like you have been getting some decent games and really making the new disc work for you. Sounds like a good call on round two.

Gas prices are disrupting vacations this year. Sad when the price of gas dictates your life.

His other bed is more resistant to destruction. Unfortunately, his cushy bed ended up in the trash today because he ripped a new hole and pulled all the stuffing out. It wouldn't be as much of a problem but he tends to eat the stuff he pulls apart and I'm not sure it is that good to be eating.

Gas prices do make me think more about driving. I don't drive very much anyway but I've been getting lazy and riding my e-bike less. It is kind of difficult to ride around here with the traffic and the way the roads are. Bike riding has always been kind of risky and I guess it is not as much fun for me as it used to be.

Hi back and have a nice weekend!
