My Actifit Report Card: July 28 2022

I played a couple of rounds of disc golf with my friend out at my favorite eighteen-hole golf course. I won the first round with a -5 score to his +4. In the second round, I won with a +5 score to his +6. It was getting a bit windy in the second round and I was a bit tired. I kept missing a lot of shorter throws that I know I could have made.

There was a homeless person in hole seven's fairway in the second round. I suggested just paring out the hole but my friend wanted to play it. We informed him that he was right in the way and asked if he minded if we played through. He was fine with us throwing and we warned him he should be watchful of discs. It didn't seem like he was listening and understanding very well though.

I was up on the tee first and there was a slight left-to-right headwind. Usually, I can get a disc past where the person was sitting but with the wind, I was less confident. I considered throwing a less stable disc to get a bit more distance but did not want to end up in the bramble patch.

When I threw the disc did not go as far as usual because of the wind and under-confident throw. We watched as it headed towards the fellow and started yelling, "Fore!" He didn't even bother looking up or moving at all and the disc landed next to him.

My friend threw next and the same thing happened only this time the disc landed even closer to him. My friend wondered if he knew what "fore" meant but I just thought that he was a bit out of it. It seems like in such a situation you would take some interest in your safety and at least make some effort to move out of the way of a quickly flying object. Luckily he was not hit by a disc.

It does seem that way but I was inside the house at a distance. He might have been wondering about some distant movements though.

I very often encounter some birds near my house, but unfortunately my camera phone does not support taking pictures that are a bit far from the object

My new smartphone has a very nice zoom on it. That was one of the main features that got me interested in upgrading my phone.

I would have been afraid of hitting the guy and it not going well. If he was out of it, he may not have been able to watch out for himself. I'm glad it went well all the same.

I was a bit too worried to make a good throw but I'm glad that it worked out alright. Next time I don't think I will be so willing to take a chance and just try to par out the hole.

apparently, it's a domesticated bird, looks so beautiful if we are friendly with nature.

The birds in my backyard don't seem to mind human activities that much but they are not domesticated. The photo was taken from inside through a window and if you get close to the birds they will fly away.

Yeah I think I would have skipped that. People are crazy nowadays. I go out of my way to avoid any confrontation coz you never know. I guess I am jaded but watching the news makes me that way!

In retrospect I think it would have been much easier to par the hole out and move on. We both took a bogey on the hole and having a person right on the landing area made things a lot more difficult.
